Owner was great! He was in communication with me throughout the whole installation of a new electrical panel/hook up for a new hot tub and Ring door bell installation. Price for the whole job was very reasonable and fair. His crew showed up and started when he said they would. Would highly recommend!

This was the second time we used them. The first time our insurance company was going to cancel our policy unless we fixed some electrical issues. They made an appointment fairly quickly for us. Wonderful! Over MONTHS I have called so many electric companies to get a quote and I couldn’t get anyone to even call me back. I called for a quote at four pm, and the next morning they were at my house to install. They took their time, were professional and friendly, and did a wonderful job. Adding a new split level wall air conditioner in a small Florida room. I live in a manufactured home. This is the second time we have hired preferred electric and Bill is like family to us now. One employee stands out named JJ who was able to track down an electrical failure that has been existent for probably close to 30 years. 4 years ago we hired one of the largest franchises in Edgewater and their solution was they could not explain dead outlets they would have to plumb in a brand new line. I never followed through on the repair. Today JJ tested every outlet in the house, went under the house and looked around, and unbelievable he decided to pull a piece of outside vinyl siding corner molding to find damaged wires shoved in there. Tore the protective sheath off the wire allowing the two wires to touch outside which kept tripping the breaker. I knew there was a wire that was taken out of a breaker because of that problem but that was the solution from all the other national franchises. I was told at the time I bought the home in 2018 about the problems of the two outlets dead in the Florida room that's been dead since this house was set in 1993. 30 years later preferred electric came to lay the groundwork for the mini AC installation and took on the hunt for this mystery dead outlet problem and solved it. So many electrical companies over 30 years could not and preferred electric did in less than 30 minutes. When it comes to commitment to customers, Preferred electric does leave until they solve all the problems that bother the customer. That kind of customer service demands my loyalty back to them and I will always continue to choose preferred electric.

I called and explained our issue and our location, the lady said they are in edgewater So I apologized and told her I didn't realize how far they were, admittedly I was just calling the list that popped up in my Angie's search, and I thanked her for her time, she stopped me and told me she would call the owner, as he likes to work Angie's list calls, and see if he wanted to take the business and she would call me back. She called back and said he would, so they were great about scheduling for the next day. We weren't given a time frame, no big deal they said morning so we planned to wait through the morning for their call. When he called he sounded annoyed and generally unhappy to be making the call.

He unplugged our dryer (which we thought blew our fuse) and turned the breaker on and it stayed on so he said our dryer was the problem and proceeded to charge $100, he offered $10 off when he realized we were incredibly disappointed that he was over charging, he also said it would have been the same price even if he had switched the fuse in the breaker. So we basically paid him $90 to drive to us and unplug our dryer.
I was never told of a service charge or any price talk for that matter, but I obviously expected one. However, what they charge is way above what we've ever been charged for a service call that resulted in no work being done. We have hired other professionals which resulted in the same, they've come out, what we thought was wrong wasn't so they did no work and they charged us $50 for time/fuel, very reasonable. I should have checked the google reviews instead of relying on the Angie's list ones.
