They'll shut your power off after a month of not paying and not offer payment plans. They won't work with you and shhip won't approve you even if you meet the criteria for payment help. Don't go with REU.

Been waiting 7 weeks now for my deposits to be returned after paying balance in full. I was first told 4 weeks, now the date keeps changing. Now they are saying 8 weeks.
Funny, if you are a day late paying, they shut off your service, but, when they owe you oney it's a waiting game...Thieves

I will start this review off with stating, I do not EVER write reviews. But with how thoroughly stressed out I am because of the financial & emotional hardship this company has caused me, I'm gonna make it a meaningful one. You think Pg&E is bad? At least they have an after hours customer service line to address your issues- I was left in 90 degree heat in my apartment on a 106 day with my 3 year old, and even after forking over 500 dollars to pay a bill that I very much could not afford, I still couldn't reach anyone to turn my electricity back on. It's water off their back if a toddler has to sit in a dark, hot apartment with no food. Just blistering heat and a fridge full of food beginning to turn hot. Wasted 500 dollars. All the food in my fridge that I sacrifice my life for to keep her and I afloat? Wasted. My hard earned money that I also have to fight for? Wasted. On top of that, I call this morning at 8am sharp, just for them to tell me I have to fork over another 160 dollars that (mind you, I also have screenshots for proof) was not due until AUGUST 27 2024. Tell me how I have to pay a balance that is not due until August 27th when it is currently August the 8th. Make that make sense. So now that I have zero dollars in my bank account to buy any more food or pay any more bills, they tell me it will be unknown when someone can come to my building and turn my power back on. City of Redding, how do you feel knowing you price gauge people who are overworked and underpaid? How do you feel knowing you charge me hundreds of dollars a month for an apartment that rarely has running appliances/cooler is lightly used? Do you really care about all the people suffering in Redding California? Or do you thrive off of the power of being a monopoly. Hmm, I think that's the ticket! You're funded by the livelihood of innocent people scraping for money for outrageously priced food, bills, and gas. You're funded by Bethel church. You're funded through the state. This won't be the last this company hears from me. And, the next time you have a 23 year old woman sobbing on the phone because you just stole $700 from her and her 3 year old baby, maybe reconsider who should be running this company and how many lives you have ruined. Peace and love, I hope one day REU is thrown off the deep end.

In my opinion, after living all over the United States, in various Counties, Shasta, County, and city of Redding electric are the biggest colluding company ever hands-down will shut your bill off, no matter what temperature is outside with disregard of any situation, even if you have the money to pay I highly advise if there’s anyway you can go without using this company do so as they are extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate of anything, that doesn’t have to do with them getting more money than they’re supposed to they will tax you on every nickel and dime any chance I can get instead of just like me to pay my bill they force their way on my property, shut my electricity off resulting in an additional $800 and shut off and reinstatement fees over a $200 bill that I could’ve easily paid before. The dude even shut it off but he told me it was none of his concern or problem.

They want a deposit of $756 for two people for one property!!!!!! I have been a customer before and didn’t pay near that much. Not to mention I had always paid on time and in full. It’s not like I can go with another utilitiy company. Absolutely ridiculous! How would you expect someone without means to pay that? And I get it, there are a bunch of bums out there that don’t pay their bills, and then the literal buck gets passed on to responsible customers.

I will call this morning. The same amount for my bill was deducted two times from my checking account, within a week. Once the check number was listed and the second time this info appeared.
Redding-EBatooz UTL Bill.
No idea! I have lived in this home 22 years, plenty of money in the account, but I don’t appreciate being charged twice!!
I can’t wait for the explanation!
Update: I called and the customer service person was very nice.
I explained the situation. The resolution is that I will be refunded the electronic payment which was taken erroneously. It may take 7-10 days.
For whatever reason my check cleared my bank on Sept 2, and and an electronic debit was taken out on Sept 6, for the same amount.
No rhyme or reason.
Hoping my refund is forthcoming.
