I hired this company to put in a generator after seeing their commercials on TV, and seeing all the high reviews online. I can say that my experience has been horrible. First off, the permitting process took months, just to get the approval to install the generator. After the install, city permitting workers came out countless times sighting issues that needed to be resolved that seemingly didn’t get resolved because they’d get flagged again for the same issues. The biggest being they installed the generator too close to the natural gas line, which caused them to move the generator over about 18 inches and needing to install a giant junction box on the outside wall of my house. Not a great look. During the install and clearing permits, it’s almost impossible to get ahold of anyone to get a status update. I’d call and leave messages, email – repeatedly – before I’d finally get someone to reply. Fast forward a year, I discovered they installed one of the junction boxes incorrectly to my pool heater, causing it to fill up with water… so another repair. Now after the first year they hit you with a $600 per year contract to continue to monitor the generator for issues. Even after I signed it, I still get an email asking me to sign up every couple of weeks.. I’ve responded a dozen times telling them I’ve signed up for the monitoring program and to stop emailing me. Now the icing on the cake. I’m paying $600 a year for them to 'monitor' for problems. Today we lost power and the generator didn’t turn on. Looked at my mobile app, and it shows the cell signal used to monitor the generator isn’t working. I open the generator and the control panel that runs the entire system is blank and not working. Obviously a major problem… and isn’t that why I’m paying $600 a year for Reliable to monitor for problems and fix them before they cause an issue? This monitoring program is a scam. If they were actually monitoring the system they would've seen that my generator didn't exercise on Monday as scheduled, and that I've been offline over a week! Calling to ask that question just got me on the line with some low level customer service person, who can’t do anything but set an appointment a week from now. If you’re going to install a generator, look elsewhere.

First time I used the company for service. From the receptionist to the actual service it was extremely pleasant. Upon arrival the service technician DAVID COLE was knowledgeable, friendly and very very professional. He took his time explaining his steps in the service call and answered my concerns without any hesitation or omission. I will not hesitate reaching out for the company again and having my 18KW serviced by David Cole.

Leo came out to facilitate my generator initial startup. Leo was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. After completing the required tasks, Leo started my generator for the first time. After testing the switching capability my new generator was finally complete. We did have a glitch with the mobile app which wasn’t resolved, but Leo gave me a number to call to resolve that issue. Leo did a great job and answered all of my questions.

I have so many wonderful things to say about Reliable. We’ve had several service men over the years (previous and now current residence). I have absolutely zero complaints. The customer service is wonderful. The service men are always polite and efficient. We had to install a new generator in our new (current) residence and the process was seamless. Noel visited today for a minor tweak to the new system. He was kind and informative. Our issue was corrected quickly. I live in Florida. A generator and a service provider I can trust are very important.

My take on this company is nuanced, but I will keep it brief. The quality of the product is great. I am very impressed with this. Where my trouble lies is the quality and quantity of the communication. I don't say quality of service, because everyone was genuinely kind. However, the breakdowns in communication were rampant. As a result, a generator that was promised to be completed before 11/7 was completed on 2/21, and I think that only happened because I had to keep on top of people. I respect the fact that the city inspectors have a busy schedule, and that artificially inflated the time it took. There was just a lot of poor to no communication that occasionally had me wonder if I had genuinely been forgotten about. The exception to this rule was Luis Padron. He saw fit to 'take over' the case, and excelled in every manner possible. If it had not been for him, I genuinely had considered other action. I will leave out some other pending matters that have transpired, but should not be commented upon until a resolution has been set. Reliable power systems knows what I am discussing and should be grateful for that.

UPDATE: The pending matters had been resolved, but decidedly not in a manner I found appropriate. I now find myself more disappointed in management than before. You will get a good generator as a result of using this company, but I can't vouch for management decisions in the process. Think twice on this one.
