REP Solar did an amazing job on our solar installation. We replaced our roof before starting the solar install, and once we let them know the roof had received inspection approval, they were able to come out and start preparing for the solar installation the next day. They quickly worked us into their schedule and completed the whole job in about 4 afternoons. I mainly worked with Amy and Rudy, and both were very helpful and answered all my questions. It was a smooth process, and all of the work looks great. I would highly recommend REP.

Rudy and Eduardo were great to work with! They did an excellent job explaining the steps in the installation and were professional the whole way through. The install went a bit slower than expected due to the city permits taking longer than expected, but ultimately I am very satisfied with the project and would work with them again.

Great customer service ONCE you are able to reach a live person (hence one star deduction). My solar panels stopped working 3 years after installation. I first emailed the person that I worked with previously. Email was blocked. I then emailed the person whose name and email address was on the invoice (for 10K+!), again blocked. Then, I called the number that was on the paperwork, an automated system that either says "Thank you for using our automated system" after making a choice and hangs up on you, or transfers you to a mailbox that is "full and cannot leave a message"!! After an hour so, I got the idea to just google the company and pretend like I'm a new customer. Sure enough, reached a live person who was in the engineering department, but then he actually gave me a phone number to the right department. From then on, the service was top notch!! Kudos to Chang who was assisting me. He first walked me through some steps to see if I can reset the system. When that didn't work, I followed up with him the next day and he said he will send someone out. When the repair guy didn't show up that day, I followed up and he said the repair guy was running late yesterday and would come by first thing in the morning. The repair person did show up and did a great job and explained how to reset the system myself next time the wire tripped (apparently that was the problem). Greatly appreciate Chang and his crew! However, the company needs to work on how existing customers can reach customer service without the runaround!

I had an outstanding experience working with REP Solar, and I am delighted to share my glowing review.

Their team of experts demonstrated extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of solar energy. They patiently answered all my questions, addressing my concerns and providing comprehensive information about solar panel installation, financing options, and the overall process.
The installation process itself was seamless and efficient. In terms of customer service, REP went above and beyond my expectations. The communication lines were always open, and they promptly addressed any concerns I had along the way.

From start to finish, their commitment to excellence, professionalism, and sustainable energy solutions left me thoroughly impressed!

Renewable Energy Partners is an amazing company! It was a huge decision for our family to install solar panels. It has been over a year now, and we couldn't be happier that we decided to hire REP to do the job for us. They were so professional, knowledgable, friendly and fast! From start to finish, they made the process easy for us. We couldn't believe how quickly their team installed the panels. Top notch company with superb customer service. We have already recommended them to many neighbors and friends! Thank you REP!

Rudy was a GREAT installer! I was impressed with his willingness to work in very hot conditions and his attention to detail.

He worked quickly and came back just to make sure everything was working correctly. He also returned for the inspection.

Great job getting everything installed correctly.

Reviewing a solar install isn’t like rating a restaurant where you know what to expect. For most it’s a one time deal. If you make the wrong decision on your installer you could be in for a tough ride. Equipment is important because the panels will likely outlive some the companies who install them, but you need an installer who knows the process.

If you wish to skip my dissertation… it’s a YES for REP solar. More details below if you wish to know details of the process and decision process we used.

Like most of the companies I talked with Tom was a great front-person, interactive, willing to talk details, etc. Tom makes it clear that he is a numbers and production guy. Pricewise REP was comparable to other local installers but considerably less than the big name companies. REP uses great equipment, no short cuts.

As with anything you sign, special requests need to be in writing or they don’t exist. Once you are done with sales the project moves to administrative, then install which is driven by the tech drawings, which is derived from the contract. Beyond that, your project is just another install.

I’m pragmatic about projects and I do not let details slip. My partner and I had specific expectations and most were met 100%, a few fell a little short.

We signed documents on 2/7/23. The site survey and SCE approval happened very quickly but then things got quiet. 15 days before stated completion date I reached out and nudged the project along. Administrative opportunity.

Once the install process started I met Rudy and Koua. Wow! They were considerate, interactive and educated me on the equipment and the process. They did a clean install with conduit tight to the panels and painted to match. They even informed us that we had a loose roof tile and pushed it back into place. Thank you guys.

There were times we didn’t know when tradesman would be here. Electricity was turned off one morning when the electrician showed up an hour early and gave us 10 minutes notice before shutting off power.

Here is our list with a “Got’ or “Didn’t get” rating.

1. Meet NEM 2.0 application deadline. Yes
2. Panels to be virtually invisible from the street. YES
3. Micro-inverter system (prefer Enphase). Yes
4. Would like CT (consumption measuring transformer) YES (Thanks Tom)
5. All electrical drops to be done inside wall or into garage/through wall to controller. No
6. MP upgrade (requires knocking the original panel out of the stucco) Yes
7. A very clean stucco match (In the end yes).
8. Assessment of system performance after install and proactive feedback from installer on system/equipment performance. No
9. Install complete by May 7, 2023. This date was set by installer, not customer. No

I’m disappointed in myself for not insisting on electrical drop into the wall (Remember my note about any agreement being in writing). When the project was completed an electrician told me it isn’t a big deal to drop the wires through the roof/soffit. I caved so I hold myself partially accountable.

Install was not started on time, nor was it completed on time….BUT Amy did a great job having all paperwork in order. We received Permit sign-off and PTO from SCE within days of project completion. I consider that a wash and am extremely pleased with how that played out.

Regarding the monitoring. Our controller wasn’t working for several days after install, thankfully I noticed. Rudy talked me through the reset process over the phone. It went offline a few weeks later and I got it going on my own. If it was down for weeks I am convinced no one would have noticed. There are some indicators that the Enphase system needs some tuning, proactive alerts, CT accuracy, etc. I give the app 3.5 stars.

In the end we are very happy with our system and install. We recommend REP solar. Some of the things I mention are small compared to what some friends have gone through and I am confident we made the right decision. REP has been responsive to every call or inquiry and that speaks volumes for a company doing the right thing. REP 4.5 Stars.

It's been 1 year since we went solar with REP and couldn't be happier. Their sales rep "Tom the Solar Guy" is awesome! Very friendly, knowledgeable and was with us every step of the process. We just finished our first year and have saved over $2000 from our previous years energy bills. I've already recommended REP to several neighbors. I'm glad we went with a local company. Tom has checked in with us several times over the past year and that lets us know we are a client and not just another job completed and the company vanishes. I would highly recommend giving them a call for a quote!
