I haven't had my trash picked up in 2 weeks. I have been calling every day since my last service day (monday) and they keep promising me EOD next day. Guess what...it's Friday. Still here. Meanwhile I've got trash building up in my back yard and cat poop and dog poop in bags and the neighbor complained about the smell. Come get my shit! Literally.

Here we are again. 5 days, trash is still out on the curb. We get notices from our HOA for a notice to fine if we don't remove the trash cans. Come pick up our bins. We are done. And no we are NOT going to pay the pick up fee for the bins because YALL fail to do the very simple job you are supposed to do

I usually avoid writing negative reviews, but my experience with Republic Services has been frustrating enough to warrant one. We've been using their service for quite a while, and my primary concern is their reliability. For nearly six months, we received weekly calls stating, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to pick up your trash on time." I understand that unexpected issues can arise, but it's hard to believe that something was unforeseeable every single week. It became such a regular occurrence that my neighbor and I (who also used Republic Services) started joking about "unforeseen circumstances" in our daily conversations.

I tried to overlook this, but a specific incident pushed me over the edge. Trash pickup was usually early, which was fine. However, one morning as I was backing out of my driveway, I was blocked in by the trash truck. No big deal—I was happy to wait the 30 seconds it typically takes to dump the trash. But instead, the driver got out, looked directly at me as I stood beside my car, opened my trash can, moved some things around, took photos, and then sped off without saying a word and without taking my trash.

Now, I’m not going to pretend I don’t know what the issue was. There were a couple of handfuls of weeds from my yard on top of the boxes in my recycling bin. I understand this likely made the bin "contaminated" and unable to be collected. My issue is with the way the driver handled it. Rather than simply informing me (as I was standing just a few feet away), she chose to spend more time taking photos and rearranging the trash, instead of giving me the courtesy to remove the weeds myself. I get that the driver isn’t in customer service, but she is in the business of servicing customers.

This incident, combined with months of unreliable service, prompted me to cancel our account. When I called to cancel, the representative I spoke with seemed completely indifferent, which only confirmed that they don’t care whether they keep our business or not. It's as if customers are just numbers to them.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Republic Services to anyone.

I owe a really BIG THANK YOU to LYNNETTE, one of your extremely kind and helpful service drivers here in TUCSON, Arizona. I was late in getting our bin out this morning and wasn't sure if service had already been completed. Lynnette had just been down our street and was across the street, but looking my direction. She apparently saw me approach the edge of our driveway. Knowing I had just missed her, she went above and beyond for me. She came back across the street, we waved at one another, me still not realizing she had already been on our street. Right then, she conducted a beautiful, careful turn (these drivers are talented, just saying!)... and it dawned on me what she was doing (rescuing me) just to help our household receive service pick up when I was late...!!! I carefully approached her window to thank her personally and to express my appreciation for her help and kindness today. I absolutely cannot express how very gracious Lynnette was to do that for us. THANK YOU for going above and beyond, Lynnette!

Zero stars. Tried to switch my mom’s account to my name as I’ll be taking over her house, and keep the same trash cans to keep things simple. They were charging her a fortune and the customer service rep said she could get me a new customer price, but was having technical issues and would work on it. We got a $50 invoice the next day to start new services under our name. A week later a trash can was dropped off at my mom’s house which was not what we had talked about, because she already has the trash and recycle bins and we were to continue new service at the same house under a different name.

Then they proceeded to charge my mom again for the next 3 months after I already verified twice that the account was now under my husband’s name and credit card. These people have a different story every time I call. Nobody knows what is going on, why a new trash can was sent, or when our actual service start date will begin. And they don’t know what our bill will be. Beware of these SCAMMERS and take your business to Waste Management.

BEWARE!
Republic trash is a scam!
When you end your service they will charge you hundreds to pick up your cans!
Even though they pick up both cans at the same time!
Use ANYONE else you can find!

* Republic did reach out and correct some billing issues. Consumers should be advised that it is a $35 PER can charge to pick up at end of contract even though they pick up both cans at same time.
I canceled at the end of my contract and was told I had their service until end of month and was then charged for a new 3 month period.
I was told by Republic that I was charged fees because my cans weren’t accessible for pick up when they were out for 2 weeks awaiting pick up.
Basically it will cost you more to cancel your service then continue it.
I appreciate Republics quick response and some correction on billing.
However I still feel their business practices, transparency and communication when cancelling could be greatly improved.

It's a good company to work for pay for experience drivers have a low starting wage per hr.But you get a raise once a year and good overtime Jude Quijada & Domm the coolest supervisors there i would give 5 stars but they need to pay more for experience drivers

I have 2-houses in Tucson that are 5 miles apart. Both are serviced by Republic Services. For some reason my primary house is having pickup problems. Its been 1-month since my recycle has been pickuped. Called several times.They file a complaint and nothing has happened. YET I AM PAYING FOR THIS!!! IM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB.

Great company and trucks! I am very interested in trash trucks and i love to talk to your drivers and i like to make videos of them picking up the bins. Which is cool to watch. I am also good friends with some of your supervisors in Tucson as they have been very nice to me!
