I recently visited this office and spoke with Jillian Thompson.She answered all my questions quickly.She emailed me that same day with the information I requested.She was quick and efficient.I was pleased.D.E.M. is lucky to have her as an employee.Also her pleasant demeanor was a plus.

The boat ramp in Lowell is too short. Only can service one boat and there are always several boats waiting to use it both going out and trying to come in....while it s still light out. Tempers get heated just waiting. Let s avoid confrontations and extend the boat ramp for at least 3 to 4 boats.

I walked in today to register a boat I'd bought from out of state. What I expected was a long wait, grumpy staff, and to be told I was missing some vital document. What I experienced was the complete opposite - I was the only person in there, the gentleman who helped me could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and the whole process was completed in a few minutes. Top marks to RIDEM on all fronts!

I’ve kept my boats in Rhode Island since 2008 and all of my experiences with the RI DEM over the phone and in person have been nothing short of exceptional! Always knowledgeable, helpful, and very courteous which having lived another states isn’t the norm. Go RI! - a true boat friendly state!

I purchased an out of state boat without a title and was expecting the process to take a long time. The information online was accurate and I was able to get my questions answered on the phone in minutes. I got back the registration way faster than I expected just in time for nice weather. Done all through the mail! Keep up the good work RI DEM.

Due to the current pandemic most things are being done online or through the mail. I needed some questions answered about buying/selling and registering a boat in Rhode Island. John has been an absolute pleasure to deal with getting my questions answered and things moving in the right direction. Emailing back an forth has been extremely easy to get all this done. I have no other way I can find to contact anyone from the DEM. First. I would give the DEM a 5. R.I . Is fantastic to the angler. We have places to park and great boat launches. Free. Unlike Massachusetts. My complaint is. Why we as anglers do not have access to one of the best bass fishing lakes in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Massachusetts has a boat launch. To a lake we share. And I believe we stock with trout and salmon. With our licensing fees. Yet to Launch a boat or kayak from the Massachusetts side charge their residence nine dollars and Rhode Island residence $30 to park why doesn’t Rhode Island give road island residence access to this fantastic lake ? You have property bordering the lake Buckhill management area why should I pay Massachusetts $30 to park and launch my kayak? Rhode Island DEM please give us access to this fantastic lake and shut down Massachusetts extortion ring
