Fifteen years ago, it seemed Rockford Fosgate had the best mobile audio out. No one could touch their performance or technology. Fast forward to the present. I can honestly say I will never, ever under any circumstances purchase one of their products again. Less than two years ago I purchased around $4,500.00 worth of their product for my ski boat. The head unit was an RFX9901DM2 ($349.00). This is not an extremely high end source unit, however, I expected to last over a year and six months. The glass inside developed a crack and allowed moisture to develop inside the screen. I call Rockford Fosgate. They explain to me that model has been discontinued. I call the company listed on the head unit (Patrick Industries). They have no parts and no way to fix the unit. I called Freeman Repair (also listed as the east coast parts and repair company). No parts and no way to fix the unit. They explained to me Rockford simply sources their units from CHINA and slap their name on them. They also explained this company has gone way down hill over the last decade. Looks like another "Once Great" US company that sold out to CHINA all in the name of profits. Well, rest assured Rockford, you have lost my business for life. I would seriously consider choosing another brand of audio that has chosen quality over slapping their name on garbage for an extra buck or two.

We have two sets of Fosgate 6 inch marine coaxial speakers in our boat. One of the four speakers has a defect. The cone is not glued to the surround. The speakers are not cheap at $300 per pair. This came to our attention after the one year formal warranty period. I called tech-support asking what they advised. Maybe, I was hoping for something along the lines of, send us a picture and we can give you a refurbished unit in exchange, or maybe some tips on how to fix it, not really sure what I expected I guess… Long story short, they said I can buy TWO new ones for $300. Mind you, these are properly installed, Proper enclosures, proper crossovers, not overdriven. Obviously a manufacturing defect. Not a positive experience.

rockford fosgate are junk and do not last.. authorized dealer install and 3 sets blow and now have to pay to send to company bad customer support for faulty electronics. Rockford treats consumers like they have done something wrong even tho they installed all items.

Rockford fosgate has been the best since the 90s and still to this day they're winning over the competition. I own a 800a2 and t10001bd and both are great amps. Go Rockford!!!!
