It was such a pleasure being a part of the Animal Adoption event we all brought our foster animals to Runnings for. The space was Great & Everyone working were the nicest, most Wonderful, helpful people!!

Another Fabulous event for the holidays. Ruby Whiskers Rescue brought Santa, The Grinch, fosters, animal's & gifts to celebrate!!!! Runners was Wonderful & helped worth adoptions too.

Gun guy at the store named George was the worst.
The following day after purchasing 2 guns, I had a question; so I called.
George was so rude to me on the phone that I informed him that I was considering cancelling the purchase for both guns.
He said go ahead.
After coming to the store and while I was speaking to a manager, he approached and told her to cancel my purchase and be done with me. (Keep in mind that I was only considering cancelling at this point; I still really wanted the firearms).
He then told me I was on the no sell list and that he didn't want my business. He said this even though he didn't have the authority to make that decision.
The store manager informed me that he was only a gun salesman.
After George said this...
It helped me make up my mind.

Never had I the displeasure of worse customer service nor have I ever experienced the sheer rudeness that this person displayed. If you are a firearms person....
Go anywhere else but Runnings.
It's on my never again list!
Not only did they lose this sale...
But also the holster,
The ammo,
and the red dot optic that I was going to upgrade to.
Next time George comes to work...
I hope his managers say,
"Thanks George! You're the best!"

This place was dark inside and a lake of personell to even take care of customers. Waited 10 minutes to check out and was finally noticed by someone who told me to go somewhere else. So left the merchandise in the cart and walked out. Another store less than two miles away got the sale instead.

We found a big problem. 3 items rang up a higher price than they listed by the item. I don't feel comfortable going there anymore. If you go check your prices!!!!!

9/10. This is the ideal sporting goods store if you are in the south or southwest suburbs. Pricing for firearms or ammunition is the cheapest in the area and extremely competitive for brand new firearms especially when Black Friday and other discount sales come around. You won’t get new stuff for cheaper anywhere else. Not sure what the new policy is now but they used to have a price matching policy that helps get the price down. The amount of ammo they have is the same as any big box retailer if you are looking for something specific.
I believe they offer transfers for $40 but you have to call them in advance to tell them where to send their license information to as they are not on the gunbroker network - they do not offer consignment however

I would rate 10/10 but they are extremely fastidious regarding “straw purchases” - more so than any other gun shop. Almost to a suspicious, paranoid extent. My advice? If you’re going to shop for a firearm here, come alone. Go to a smaller shop if you’re going to bring a friend or partner. Also some of the sales reps get a kick out of denying somebody the ability to purchase a gun and ruining their day. If you go there to purchase a firearm, ask for Benjamin, not Brandon. The rule of thumb is the older the sales rep, the less pleasant of an experience you will have. However most of the sales reps are pleasant and a joy to work with.

This place covers almost everything I need, if they sold groceries I wouldn't need any other store. The hunting section is better than big box stores and faster than waiting for an online order. The fishing section has more than enough to fish anywhere in the midwest. You can get the chicken feed and then grab things for home projects. One stop shop, except groceries of course.
