It's been almost a year since my wife and I had our solar system installed.
From day 1, everything was done the right way. The assessment was thorough and well considered and I can't say enough good things about the installation crew. They did quality work with attention to detail and great respect for my home and property.
If anyone is considering making the smart investment in solar, I highly recommend Same Sun!

I am all for supporting local businesses but there is no need to be rude, condescending, and price gouge.

We were initially happy with the installation in 2016. Fast forward 7 years and one of the optimizers in one of our panels went. We contacted Same Sun and were advised our warranty was expired but they would be happy to send 2 technicians out to the tune of $290 for 2 hours of work. My husband opted to change the optimizer out himself which sent Phil into a tizzy but he was willing to ship the free part to us (we offered to pick it up). After my husband installed it (in 30mins if that) the serial numbers needed to be swapped in the system. Phil was very condescending and told me he could not help with this as we didn’t pay for his service, “that’s what happens when you do it yourself”. A quick phone call to solar edge themselves and the serial numbers have been swapped in the system. They were kind and told me to call back in 24-48 hours if there was any issues. I’ll take the $290 my husband saved us and put it towards another bill because “that’s what happens when you do it yourself”

I'm very happywith our solar installation. The panels, rack, and microinverters were all of superior quality. The crew was courteous, efficient, and communciative. My wife works from home so communicating power shut offs and working as quietly as possible were important. The crew was also detail-oriented and took the time to fasten wiring neatly under the panels to protect them from snow/ice and hide conduit as much as possible. I anticipate working with Same Sun on another project in the near future.

May go solar, but won't use these guys. They charge $150 to come out and tell you what it may cost. After being transferred to "somebody tht has a better grasp on the numbers". It turned out to be the president of the company. I was completely dumbfounded by how rude he was. He kept interrupting me and told me that when he was finished I could talk. He informed me that not going solar was an "economic losers bet" He stated that it was the right thing to do environmentally and that anybody who cares about the environment would go solar regardless. I mentioned concerns about the environmental impact when they are no longer working and articles from multiple national news sources about panels in California ending in the landfill and how they are trying to combat that. He interrupted again and told me all of those were false articles and that there are not thousands of panels that have been decommissioned and do I want to move forward or not. I stated that after talking with him I have less interest than before and his response was "then I have less interest in talking to you" and hung up.
I may still go solar but I would bever use his company!

Our system is a large home ground mount installed in December in New York State near the Vermont border. We are already reaping the rewards of much lower electric bills. Marlene and Philip Allen, the owners of Same Sun are incredibly professional and a pleasure to work with.
