We initiated a formal complaint against our local Stater Bros in Loma Linda after my kids were sold a sushi roll from this location that contained spoiled cucumber. We wasted our time filing a serious complaint here after a so called investigation returned by this establishment with no findings/no further action/case closed was the outcome. I contacted EHS because we had a valid complaint. Management at Stater Bros seemed to be more concerned with exchanging the roll/losing money due to possibly having to initiate a refund (we didn't ask for one and didn't intend to ask either, we just wanted the old spoiled food throw out) rather than asking if my kids were okay. I'm very disappointed in the system the county of San Bernardino has implemented regarding cases like this. A formal complaint was filed and should be thoroughly investigated/ corrected and followed up on even when there were no findings a week later. Guess what? They've since thrown out the spoiled cucumber, it was served to my kids over a week ago!!! What a silly and pitiful investigation. This system adds insult to injury. Terrible.

every time I have a food complaint - because restaurants here are not always the highest quality - they follow through on checking out the business.

The issues I have are that they didn't update all the restaurant businesses on Assembly Bill 1276 and made sure that it was followed through - as per the law. That's illegal.

Another issue is that they're a little behind the times - especially with the food handler's card - it doesn't specialize into different food categories. Unfortunately, that kind of leads so many restaurants around here to forgo employees having one in the first place - which is against the law, but something businesses would rather do than to get one that takes a few minutes and a small amount of money to. That's how bad getting a food handler's card is in this county - that entire businesses are willing to risk breaking the law.

The last issue I have with this EH department is the 'keeping up with the joneses' attitude. While it's important to make sure that laws are consistent - San Bernardino County isn't leading the way, but is always playing catch up. No ideas that come from themselves. They blindly follow what other counties are doing without questioning if it's beneficial or not.

There's so many health issues that come out of restaurants, because the laws allow for processing of unsanitary foods. If we took out animal products from restaurants - while the EH dept wouldn't have much of a function - people would be safer. The issue is the county's probably setup to have safety issues so that the EH dept can come to the rescue - which is really immoral in my view - allowing so many people to fall ill just for a few people to have a moderately-decent paying governmental job. Other people are right in that - in this regard - that is a waste of taxpayer dollars. If those dollars went to foods that carry fewer foodborne illnesses - like plants (because we are so genetically far away from plants that we can't get their diseases like we do with animals very easily - as have been seen with CoVID-19) - through the EH dept - they could keep their jobs and people in the county would be healthier. I'm just saying - they can do this is they choose - but it takes courage to move in the right step forward - and I'm worried that they might lack that. I hope they prove me wrong.

This place always has so many new fresh out of school workers working out on the field that think they know more or are better than others that have more experience. I have seen some of the new ones closed some small business for things that are for construction code not for a health code to process and oder minor things !!! (Jeanette).

This place is a scam. They do not send bills so you do not even know that you have a bill to pay. 5 years later they come up with fake bills and try to collect on it.
