The San Mateo Harbor District oversees the remarkable maritime facilities at Pillar Point Harbor and Oyster Point Marina. The District Staff has worked Our harbor personnel, our staff, and our GM Jim Pruett, are a credit to the County.

The District runs essential operations, including 24/7 Search and Rescue from its two harbors, manages OPM and Pillar Point Harbors, and has oversight of boat slips, launches, fuel docks, fishing piers, fish sales, RV and car parking lots, and public restrooms and showers.

The District is unified around issues related to safety, environmental oversight and prioritizing capital improvements at both harbors. Our Harbor Patrol rescue personnel perform extraordinary life-saving work around the clock. The work of the San Mateo County Harbor District is not widely understood, but it should be. The facilities and harbors we oversee at Pillar Point and Oyster Point benefit all of us.

I am giving 5 stars because the current board is VERY professional. Ms. Reyering is a great leader, and Ms. Chang-Krialy (sp?) and Mr. Mattusch (also sp? sorry) are fantastic, Mr. Laurenas is a member (founding I think) of Surfriders. This is a level of professionalism and focus on and for the water that the past boards have been lacking. The old grand jury report pre-dates ALL of the elected officials I believe. Give them a chance, they are improving this district every day every way, every meeting. Don't believe the negative hype!
