My experience with Sandbar Solar was above and beyond.

David was incredible, from his prompt responses, to last minute scheduling, to looking over our entire property and roof for best panel and battery placement options, to trying to figure out how to improve or replace our current somewhat unusual/complicated solar/battery system, to looking up old permits, to getting the quotes.

It was refreshing to receive such a friendly and thorough customer service experience, not a common thing these days.

Although we decided not to move ahead with the project at this time (for financial and other reasons, not because we didn't receive an incredibly fair quote), we will absolutely reach out to Sandbar again once we're ready to move forward.

After interviewing five "local" solar installation companies and doing our due diligence, we chose Sandbar Solar for our solar installation in 2023. One of our neighbors (who had Sandbar as their solar installer) were very pleased with Sandbar's professionalism, customer service and installation - and recommended them highly. Our experience was the same ... excellent! Nothing fell through the cracks, as a customer you can actually speak to a live person (!) and the team was on time for all appointments. The installation of solar on our home has been a pleasure throughout the process. Sandbar are a local business and everyone we interacted with clearly enjoy what they are doing, were professional and care deeply about the quality of the installation and their relationship with clients - who after-all are neighbors. We learned much throughout the process from the original design, permitting, installation and future maintenance.
The installers checked back with us to ensure all was working fine.

We recommend allowing Sandbar to deal with the permitting and liaison with PG&E. Our job was not simple but they were able to shepherd our project through the numerous hurdles at a very reasonable fee.

In summary - this was a great experience throughout the project - particularly with the Sandbar people.

We've been running on solar for 3 months now thanks to Sandbar's installation, and everything has worked perfectly. We expected to run into installation delays because of timing (trying to make the NEM2 application deadline), but Sandbar adhered to the schedule that they initially shared. And even better, they were available to answer questions every time we called and accommodated a late change for our electrician to upgrade to a 200 amp panel. They communicated every PG&E and County site visit/inspection so we could be present. Everyone we worked with at Sandbar was stellar-- they clearly care about the quality of their work. We will definitely use them if we decide to add battery storage to our installation.

They coordinated with all of the appropriate people to complete the work. They also helped update electrical items that would benefit our home.

So excited that I am officially gone solar! Jeremy Pearl at Sandbar Solar & Electric and their team was was fantastic to work with. Jeremy came by in person to assess the job and then again to present the options for me. He explained all the related aspects of the job like panel connectivity and such which was a little challenging due to my townhouse situation. Jocelyn their office project coordinator was prompt and thorough in staying in touch and they handled all the utility paperwork . Their field team very friendly and professional. The install looks great.

Once it was all officially turned on, Jeremy came by to ensure I knew how to access the online performance tracking and answer my maintenance questions . So far the system has saved me $670 in electricity costs and it’s only been up since June ! 8.5 year payback on the system with my EV and some Home electrification after the Federal tax credit and I got a 12 month at zero interest loan through their partner company so I can bridge full amount due to when I get the tax credit in 2024.

Of the long-standing companies I got bids from (I wanted a firm that would be around if there are warranty issues in the next 20 years), Sandbar was the most cost effective AND I may have selected them regardless due to the exceptional service . Highly recommend!

They also have some exciting new offerings that include an onsite battery, (cheaper than full battery backup) that extends the benefits of your system and keeps payback periods low.

The only tip I have for customers is to prethink where you want the equipment installed in your garage and such. I did not and regret I did not have them install it a little higher so I could utilize the wall space below differently. These specifics are not something they plan for in advance, and even though the installer checked with me about the location, I hadn't thought it through in advance.
