We had a wonderful experience, the inn keepers were terrific folks! We are seniors we travel with a well behaved service animal
They were accomodating. The motel was an older however the rooms were very clean well equipped updated and comfy and the cost all at an affordable price. Personally We had no complaints will recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank You To the Management and housekeepers! Have a wonderful blessed holiday!

wonderful place , we came there after being treated badly at the Anchor motel . This motel has the greatest beds , linens and pillows. Like sleeping on a cloud .The a/c took along time to cool down the room but cooled down greatly after dark . . Great manager as the owners were out of town . Pet friendly with dog treats in the office . Lots of wind chimes outside to lull you to sleep .

Had to stop for the night unexpectedly and chose The Sands because it wasn't a chain, it looked inviting from the road, and the woman who answered the phone when I called was very friendly and cheerful. The room was spacious, clean, not so modern, but comfortable. And a very reasonable price! As I was in town to view some property to rent/ buy, I ended up needing to stay several more nights. Not only did I receive a discount for multiple nights, the proprietor's were very helpful, providing me with names of local realtors, information about available property's , and in the end helped me find a new home that was exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy I stayed at The Sands! And yes, there was a Christmas Tree in the office. And twinkle lights outside. I enjoyed that too.

Needed a place to stay after not being able to make it where we were initially supposed to get to in Northern CO. The woman and man at the front desk were very helpful. I’ve stayed at a few different places around what they charge weekly and I can assure you that you won’t get the same level of service or accommodations at this price anywhere else. If I ever come back to Walsenburg I would definitely stay again. Rooms are cozy, coffee maker, very clean bedding, towels (which is a major concern at most places because of COVID), refrigerator that can fit a decent amount of stuff and microwave. They were also quick with snow removal. The train can be a bit annoying if you sleep light but you get used to it after a day. If you’re staying for a while they do have a closet in room as well as a wardrobe. Wasn’t expecting a lot at first but was happy with what they do have.
