I called SBC for a dumpster and they had it on site the same day. Customer service was great and the pricing was fair compared to other company’s. Would highly recommend them and definitely use them again for a clean out!

Eric @ SBC Waste responded quickly to my online inquiry and - despite our HOA needing services outside SBC's - he went above and beyond to help.

He took the ten minutes to share his perspective on our goals for a vendor, providing clear, great recommendations on other providers and solutions + general knowledge to ease my own understanding of the domain.

His knowledge and willingness to assist, even when there was nothing in it for him, were truly appreciated. He & SBC seem like a dream vendor - honest, personal touch + executing on what they do the best.

Holy cow, what a garbage company. But really, I manage 45 buildings, and most of them need commercial trash collection (anything over 3 apartments requires this).

I've worked with all the big companies, but this is the only one where I have an actual guy I can call when I have a questions. And the drivers are insanely good at twisting through the tight alleys BACKWARDS and popping in to collect our trash. They are so quick at emptying the bins behind my office building that I race out there to give them a bottle of water on hot days and I only catch them half the time. They're really nice too - if you can catch one.

They are actually less expensive for better service than the other trash collectors we've used. Do yourself a favor, and ask for Eric - funny, charming, and he will help you find out how to cancel your old service, and take care of the notifications himself.

Completely, wholeheartedly, recommend. Oh, and I had a client call their bins "Sexy", so there's that!

DO BETTER WESTCHESTER. I am so glad to see I’m not the only resident complaining. I was hesitating making this review because I didn’t want to be seen as “nit picky” but I tell you this company is TERRIBLE. The Mrs. Would place trash out when getting ready in the morning and before dropping the children off and it would align with before they came to our street. Well last week and this week, they’ve decided to come on completely different times and it’s only one round of emptying. Our previous company came through multiple times throughout the day and if your trash was missed, you could call and they’d come through just to help you out. The day the wife put the trash out at 6am, the time they claim it has to be put out, they didn’t even come until around 3pm. But when she puts it out at 8am before taking the kids to school, they just so happen to come around 6am. It’s a joke at this point honestly and westchester you all need to do something about it! avoid this company at ALL COST. Our village needs to go back to the old trash company and money shouldn’t be the problem because I sure don’t see any reduction of fees within my water bill! So this company isn’t saving us money, go back to the previous company. And before you say “well just place it out the night before”, we tried that. Unfortunately westchester has raccoons and coyotes that are rampant and will go through the trash leaving a huge mess, a mess that this company will completely ignore. A raccoon destroyed our trash the one time we placed it out overnight for collection the next day, we obviously couldn’t have a brick on top of it, and these guys emptied the trash but left the mess surrounding the can. Trash was blowing around everywhere. I’ve never had such strong feels towards a company before but I despised this one.

STAY AWAY!!

I signed up for a 1 year contract with both parties in agreement that it would only be a 1 year contract, no renewals. Toward the end of my contract, I signalled my intent NOT to renew on two separate occasions just to be extra clear. They received and documented my intent.

Today I get an email saying my contract is automatically renewed for FIVE MORE YEARS. No discussion. You can't get anyone on the phone. If you try to ask questions or fight back they immediately threaten legal action. This is not the friendly, family owned business they claim to be.

I have been a SBC customer since 2021. The drivers are professional and their invoicing is fair & accurate. One week there were trucks cutting down the trees on our street blocking the entire one lane street. The drivers could not make it down our street. SBC gave us a credit & picked up our garbage the next day!!!

EVERYONE WHO CONSIDERS USING SBC WASTE, PLEASE READ YOUR CONTRACT THOROUGHLY. They automatically renew your 5-YEAR contract without your consent. By YOU not sending a certified letter to them saying you want to cancel BEFORE the contract is up (not sooner than 180 days but not later than 90 days - WHAT?!?!?)....automatically renews it. They don't give you notice, ask you if you want to renew. THEY JUST RENEW IT QUIETLY and suck you into another 5-year contract. Then if you try to cancel that renewal, you have to pay a cancellation fee of 6 months worth of service to BUY OUT that contract to get out of it. A monthly fee that used to be $45 when I first started is now regularly closer to $150+ once you add in all the fees that they don't walk you through when you sign.

But the biggest issue is now I have to pay thousands to cancel and to lawyer up against these people. PSA -READ THE FINE PRINT. They are very quick to send you a letter telling you they will sue you if you no longer want to use their services. BUYER BEWARE.

UPDATE FOR ANYONE EXPERIENCING SHADY CONTRACT OBLIGATIONS.

Several of you have complained that SBC has locked you into 5-year contract renewals without your consent. THIS IS ILLEGAL. New Federal Regulations have been put into place just this year to force companies to make their policies more transparent and to prevent companies from making customers jump through hoops just to get out of a contract.

Look up: Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Negative Option Rule, specifically 16 CFR Sections 425.3 and 425.6

When I told this to SBC's "Legal Department" I was told that "this is just the way our industry operates."

Yeah, we know. But it is no longer LEGAL and needs to change. So if this is happening to you, call their bluff, fight back, or find a good lawyer and put an end to the bullshit.
