I purchased a vehicle from their "passenger Vehicle" auction a few months ago. The vehicles in these auctions are listed as running. I won the auction, paid for it, got the paper work and went to pick it up. Upon receiving the vehicle I realized the transmission wouldn't go into 4th gear and had a check engine light on for gear ratio problems. Yes the vehicle was technically running but needed a lot more work considering no check engine codes or lights were listed in the auction. Had I know it had problems I would not have bid nearly as much money. The process of paying and picking up the vehicle was reasonably smooth. I wasn't overcharged or charged multiple times like other people claim to have been. In all it was an okay experience and just wish that the listing included the check engine photos on this vehicle. But long story short my experience was okay. If you buy a vehicle from here make sure you look it over in person really well and plan to tow it home regardless of how good the vehicle looks.

Sierra Auction--with their regular Surplus Auction events--is a GREAT place to score WONDERFUL DEALS on random, cool stuff! With locations in both Phoenix and Tucson, they have consignment relationships with school districts, college districts, police departments, government agencies and more, so they offer a lot of technology stuff which--though older models--still have a lot of life in them.

They also usually have some sort of jewelry stuff in every event, from low end junk costume bundles (great for parts) to higher quality individual gem stuff, all of which usually closes at a fraction of what you would pay retail, even on sale! Compared to other auction houses and dealers who also offer online bidding through "ProxiBid", their premium is lower by several points (only 12%, as of the date of this review) so your total--out the door--invoice, even after Phoenix/AZ sales tax is usually a screamin' deal.

Sierra Auctions' customer service is exceptional on their surplus sales, too. I have had multiple transactions with Sierra Auction and every one--without exception--have been wonderful experiences! Annette D. and her crew have earned every one of these stars I'm giving, and I unhesitatingly recommend Sierra Auctions with the highest regard!

Great place if you know what you are doing! Most people write bad reviews about their purchases being defective or not working. This shows lack of research on your purchase. You can preview [IN PERSON] the auction before it starts and see the condition of everything yourself. This way you can see what products are GOOD to buy and which ones you should steer away from. Though I do agree on the fees being a bit too high. Lot take out times are perfectly fine, 3-4 days to store the item is a bit too short, a week would be nice. Bought a carbon road bike from here with no issues!

They lie about cars not having problems. Truck I bought barely made it out of the lot and had to be towed home. Turns out the entire engine was bad.

Not only was I given the complete wrong item on my order, but I was refused any sort of refund or reconciliation not to mention any sort of apology. I was screwed over, and blocked by the company with my money in their hands.
Leaving this as a warning to any that may read.

Opinion based on personal experience: Long time customer who was banned from bidding after I disputed an item that was deceptively described different than the actual. After arguing with the rude, unprofessional manager, I finally was refunded my cost only to find out the company cowardly banned me from ever bidding again. Purchased thousands of dollars over 4 years, and only one legitimate compliant, yet they felt the need to ban me without my knowledge. Buyers Beware! Pictures are taken in way which makes the products look better than actual INCLUDING THE VEHICLES!!!!!
