Johnathan and his team have been nothing but professional from day one. From getting my presite done to first day of installation.
I had a new roof put on before my solar along with gutters.
Very professional and I’ll be using them again in the future.
Thank you Simmitri for the awesome installation. Very happy with my battery backup and solar output.

I purchased a new solar panel system for my home in California. Working with Simmitri was great! They kept me informed of the necessary steps and the project progressed in a timely manner. My new system was approved by the building dept, and shortly after by PG&E. It is now working great and I'm getting credits on my bill. Thanks again to all the folks at Simmitri for the new solar panels and batteries.

When I installed my solar system a few years ago, I researched dozens of companies. Some of the people I talked to at these other companies were clearly commissioned salespeople who were more dedicated to carving a commission out you their potential customer than by doing the right thing for the customer. Simmitri was and is different. Their focus is on solving your particular solar challenge. They presented me with clear option, one of which I accepted. Three years later, I can tell you that the performance of my solar system was even better than forecast. Also, because they have a background in roofing, they know how to install a roof without wrecking your roof. I could tell that other companies did not appreciate this and would have been drilling into my roof creating problems. I found their pricing competitive and the whole experience great which merits my highest recommendation!

Working with Simmitri on solar has been a wonderful experience. From sales, to project updates and install everyone has been very professional, kind and on point. I didn’t feel like I was just a number but an actual person/family member that they all cared about. Everyone had my best interests in mind through the whole process. You won’t find a better team of people who care about you.

For a recent solar+battery install: Simmitri did sloppy work, had poor communication and customer service, substandard project management, there were many delays, all onsite work was done through a subcontractor, and I have had absolutely zero followup post-install. I can summarize my entire experience with them in one word: sloppy. If I had to do things over, I would never go with Simmitri.

Things first started going downhill with the very first onsite "inspection" team (a third party subcontractor called Upscale Energy), who left dirty handprints inside my house and left ugly pink chalk drawings and marks all over the side of my house as well as the roof. I was promised a set of CAD drawings as an output of that inspection. Instead, I received a photo of my roof that appeared to have been edited on a phone with hand-drawn boxes representing solar panel locations. Unprofessional and sloppy.

After that, there were a number of delays in finalizing the location of the panels. I had to keep going back to Simmitri to ask for the design to be updated, and while it should take just moments to update a panel location, each design turnaround took up to several weeks.

In the meantime, I had brought my concerns about the "inspection" crew and following problems and delays to the attention of Simmitri management and asked for just one thing: to please help ensure a smooth and timely install going forward. They promised to make it so.

However, exactly the opposite ended up happening. The install crew showed up and started installing the wrong equipment. It took me several hours of phone calls to get that ironed out. Had I not been onsite and deeply familiar with my own install, it would have been an unmitigated disaster that would have required days (and large costs) to undo.

It also turns out that Simmitri had filed the wrong version of the final plans with the City, even though they had sent me the correct version for my approval. I don't understand how that could happen, but it led to yet more delays. Very poor project management.

There were further delays involved with filing the permission to operate because Simmitri did not submit all the needed information to PG&E. In fact, I want to make a point here: Creating CAD plans, getting things filed with the City, and getting permission to operate from PG&E are Simmitri's bread and butter. My system is not big or complex and Simmitri should be doing systems like it every day. Yet they still screwed up on the basics. Sloppy!

After the install was finished and the system was finally up and operating, probably two months overall behind expectations, I noticed that the amount of power consumed from the grid that my system showed in the Enphase app was significantly different than what PG&E showed, off by 25-50%. I had them inspect it and they found nothing wrong. I eventually found the problem myself – an incorrectly wired sensor.

I also more recently discovered that they bolted my batteries to the wall with undersized screws, and fewer of them than required by the manufacturer. They also left quite a few open, unfilled exploratory holes all the way through my exterior walls.

I did have a frank conversation with at least one person at Simmitri who acknowledged that my install had been a perfect storm of missteps, screwups and delays. He also indicated that Simmitri intended to learn from it. But... while that sounds nice, I have had ZERO followup from Simmitri (not even an email asking how my system is working) and ZERO apologies.

Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with Simmitri. There are a handful of good people there, but everyone involved in my install on the day-to-day seemed disconnected and didn't care about doing things right or on time. Meanwhile, management seemed unwilling or unable to control their subcontractor, Upscale, and were ineffective in righting this listing ship. There are plenty of other installers who install the same wonderful Enphase equipment. Simmitri seems to have normalized sloppy work, poor communication, and bad customer service.

Simmitri has done lots of work for us, ranging from a new roof, solar panels , back up battery and maintenance and repairs. We have found them professional and while at times we had wait periods ultimately everything was handled in a very satisfactory manner

More like a 4.5 rating…. We hired Simmitri for our solar and Enphase backup battery system installation. We would have given them a 5 stars rating except that we ran into an enphase system activation issue that delayed the commissioning by almost a month. Not totally Simmitri’s fault as enphase changed the certification process right when our system was supposed to be commissioned. Aside from that, everything else went smoothly and the installation was very clean and professionally done.

If you are looking for a trustable company for a roof and/or a solar system, I strongly recommend you check out Simmitri. I hired them for a new roof and a solar system for my home, and I have no regret. I would hire them again. They are very experienced professionals in roofing and solar system design & installation. In my case, there have been several difficult issues with PG&E connections and the San Jose city permit process. But the Simmitri people have always been honest and sincere. Most of the issues were not their fault, but about one issue, Simmitri honestly admitted their oversight in the permit process and immediately took necessary actions to correct it. Even their CEO and COO directly contacted me in dealing with the issues. I’d say it’s so rare to find such a sincere company these days. If you want to work with such people, go with Simmitri.
