It's only my second time making a purchase from a door-to-door representative, but when Devin, a representative from the company, initiated a conversation with me while I was outside, his easygoing demeanor immediately caught my attention. I agreed to a meeting with their salesperson, Ryan, and was treated exceptionally well. It only took a few hours to finalize all the necessary paperwork to kickstart the solar installation process. Not long after, Brent, their engineer, came over to assess my roof and determine the number of solar panels required. Within a week of initiating the process, their installation crew arrived and set up the system in just a morning's work. By the afternoon, the system was already operational. The installation process was seamless, highly professional, and neatly done, with all the wiring concealed. The panels looked sleek and streamlined on my roof. After waiting for another week for PG&E to certify the system, it was fully functional. It has been working flawlessly and living up to its specifications. Firstly, let me say that I have high standards and a perfectionist's eye for anything installed on my home, and I expect nothing less from anyone I employ. Ryan, Devin, and Brent, from this solar installation company, truly exceed the average contractor's standards. They too are perfectionists, and the solar system they installed is not only functioning exceptionally well, it also looks fantastic! I got onto the roof to inspect everything from the panels to the conduit runs, and everything was perfect. Ryan always promptly answers phone calls and adjusts to the customer's needs - and I can be quite a demanding customer at times. I have recommended this company in the past and will continue to do so. It's worth noting that unlike other contractors who leave a mess behind, they left my place spotless, if not cleaner than when they arrived. Our system was set up just recently by an extremely professional and efficient crew, and we are currently waiting for the final inspections and for our power company to switch out their meter, so we can start generating our own electricity. I can't recommend enough working with Brent and this solar installation company, especially if you're considering the addition of a battery backup option. I had detailed discussions with six or seven other solar installers before deciding to work with this team. They were professional, amiable, knowledgeable, and always put the customer first. Our home presented a unique challenge due to its layout and location - situated on a sloped lot away from the main road, with a roof that receives almost full sun, slightly sloped and facing northeast, and limited space. The main panel is in a detached garage around 150ft away from where the solar panels would be installed. Brent worked closely with me to devise the best strategy. He even made a rare in-person visit before I signed the contract, and we continuously adjusted the plan as we navigated the trade-offs together. Brent is also a trained electrician, which was a huge advantage given our specific needs. His pricing was the most competitive and included everything, which was a relief as I've heard horror stories from friends about unexpected costs. He was always open to my input and was extremely direct when discussing the differences between panel manufacturers, mounting options, battery variants, and their relative value. His viewpoints were more in line with my own research than any other conversations I had with other installers. We formulated a plan that maximized year-round production, allowed for potential future panel adjustments, and would make the addition of batteries in our detached garage a breeze once we're ready. When it came to the actual installation, Brent worked seamlessly with my roofer who was re-roofing the house concurrently. Although I had initially contemplated a solo project, I was drawn to Solar contractor because they provided professionally drafted blueprints and liaised with the local electrical utility company. With Christopher's assistance, we had to revise the plans three times to meet the local building inspector's requirements. This was due to a change in installation requirements by the utility company, which now required direct service tap rather than back-feeding through the home. This necessitated digging an 18-inch deep, 170-foot trench from the house to the garden barn where the solar array was to be installed, a challenging task considering the terrain. Christopher went above and beyond, designing the electrical requirements to accommodate double the number of panels and recommending a second conduit for a fiber-optic cable to provide internet access to the IQ-Combiner box. Ryan and Brent worked with the utility company to secure the required project authorization and eventual connection. Upon receiving the solar kit, I immediately unpacked and inventoried it to ensure all components were present.
