After about 2 months getting my bill from Clay County, and countless web searches later, I can make this review without being scathingly mad. The overall panels are very high quality, so it's not about the solar panels itself that I'm reviewing. The company was okay overall, some communication issues but otherwise, in that regard they where fine.
My real issue is that they did not tell us that Clay had changed their metering policy as of 05/22, and this made a huge difference on the bill I get from Clay every month. To be honest, they should have disclosed this, but the salesman really did the most to try to dissuade us from calling Clay before deciding on it. Ultimately it's on us, because we still should have tried to call and figure out what was going on, but telling us that Clay Electric tries to be coy or avoids talking to people did not help us at all and for that I am upset.
Therein lies the main problem. Their sale tactics are still shady(all solar companies, not just Solar Enegery), so just be aware that if you live in Clay, you will still have a marginal bill. We are roughly paying about $220 a month for the panels and now an $80ish a month bill from Clay. Please do extensive research on your area and net metering, at the end of the day, most solar companies are just exactly like car dealerships. They want you to buy a product, so you can also "purchase" a loan and that is the main reason they are rather shady.
If you live in Clay, PLEASE look up the policy and talk to someone, because I won't put the full blame on Solar Labs, Clay Electric is a terrible company and I would much rather FPL come in and take over the electrical needs of Clay County.

The BEST Solar Company we have ever dealt with (in several homes, in several states), they have an A+ Better Business Bureau rating for many reasons.

Mike and Barb are outstanding; the most principled and polite professionals with whom you would ever want to engage. The entire installation and service team (esp. the supervisor/ electrician, Joe) were always timely, thorough and thoughtful. They design and install the most cost effective, current and efficient equipment available that performs significantly better than the rest of the field.

We own a similar house next door which has a system installed 3 years prior to our current system (now over a full year in operation), that is 11% larger, yet is outproduced 22% by the Solar Energy Labs system. That is a full 33% greater efficiency, which means we will never have to worry about our electric bills.

The company’s responsiveness to questions and/or issues, however difficult or thorny (esp. in dealing with the local electric company and the net-metering policy) has been excellent. We will use them again when we acquire our next property.

In this complex, technical field, where homeowners (me included) are often unfamiliar with the design, sizing and efficiencies of a residential system; and are easily beguiled by the unscrupulous operations that swarm to your door when you move-in, Solar Energy Labs has the combination that is rarely found, but is essential: TRUSTWORTHINESS and TECHNICAL EXPERTISE!

Solar Energy Labs was awesome to work with. They were very professional from start to finish. Their work after installation was as good as it was during the installation and registration process. The company helped us work through the approval process with Florida Power and Light. They also tuned the system on several occasions and proactively when they thought it wasn't working as efficiently as it should. The installation teams were on time and the finished product looked great. Even the building inspector commented on the quality of the work. Joe was awesome to work with and followed up on everything he said he would do. I can't say enough nice things about the people on site and in their office. All my questions were answered quickly and they were flexible in working around our schedule. You'll love working with them and doing something nice for yourself and the planet.

I could not be more grateful to have found Solar Energy Labs. After being left with an unfinished solar project by MC Solar in 2022 I have been stuck with panels I couldn't use. Finally I found the right company with efficient friendly service, to finish the job that was started. It has been a long road and I've had poor experiences with trying to find a company who could actually help me. Solar energy Labs saved me and I only wish I had found them sooner.

They were very quick to respond and one of the only companies out locally that are currently dealing with Generac issues with PinkEnergy. It wasn’t a quick fix but it was definitely quick for me what it was. A storm had blown the fuses on the backup and blew a pwr cell. They had replaced that within 1.5 hour. Polite and knowledgable. Would highly recommend and recommend would definitely use again.

Our experience with Solar Energy Labs was excellent. Wonderful customer service from our initial sales contact, purchase and ordering, great installation & commissioning and responsive follow up service and maintenance. Our Panasonic solar system and Generac backup batteries are working as designed and promised. Whenever we need to talk to someone at Solar Energy Labs, we are able to get a hold of someone very quickly (they always answer the phone when we call). Solar Energy Labs have a very good installers and technicians who really know the equipment well. We have even received a number of calls from the owner (Mike) to touch base with us. Recently (while we were away) we had a grid outage that lasted for over five days and between the solar array producing electricity and the battery back up running the house at night, all worked very well. We couldn’t be more happy and pleased with our solar and backup battery system and the company we chose to install and maintain it, Solar Energy Labs in Jacksonville. Kudos to the entire team there and thank you for a great customer experience.

We were very happy with every step of the process. We had zero knowledge of solar, metering, batteries, etc. so we had a lot of questions. SEL answered all of our questions and our system is now up and running. It took about a month from the time we signed the contract to the time our panels were turned on. Not bad considering other solar companies said it would be about 6 months +. They even worked extra hard with the (very picky about stickers) city inspector to make sure I didn't miss too much work. Very professional, clean and on-time. I highly recommend Solar Energy Labs!

I want to take this opportunity to thank Solar Energy Labs for all the great work they did installing the solar panels and battery backup. I got my first JEA bill and I was pleasantly surprised that the electric bill charges were $40.00 from an average of $140. The installation crew did a great job and always cleaned up after themselves. Overall Solar Energy Labs were extremely professional and available to answer my questions.
