AVOID THIS COMPANY - They have horrendous customer support and are not willing to warranty equipment, even though their manufactured products are faulty. Save yourself the money and time, use a more reputable company!

I purchased a home last year that featured a solar edge array. At first, I was very happy with the system performance. However, in June 2024, my inverter went down. After having multiple solar installers on site, they have all determined that the inverter is faulty and needs to be replaced. However, when trying to obtain a new inverter from Solar Edge, they are unwilling to fulfill their warranty promise, saying that the inverter has installation issues. When I asked them for detail on what the installation issues are, they claim that the issues are stemming from water intrusion due to poor installation. The problem with their claim is that the water intrusion issues they are claiming ARE NOT in the inverter box and instead are in the DC Disconnect box. I've also had electricians verify that the issue does not stem from the DC Box and instead is stemming from a faulty inverter that is no longer working. I've asked Solar Edge for guidance / solutions to this problem, but they keep ignoring me and citing the same issue with the DC Disconnect and have yet to point out any issues with the inverter.

Their customer support is unhelpful and they are a shady company. They have not even given me a method to purchase a like for like replacement to get my system back up and running. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Customer service from this company is terrible. My installer cannot diagnosis problems with out going through tech support. Tech support only responds to installers through e-mail or chat. When I call tech support I get a message saying they no longer take phone calls and for me to open a case on line. They ask for my e-mail but have never responded to me directly. My installer received a quick response from them and forwarded it to me but my questions have not been answered. My case status says awaiting customer feedback but there is no place to leave feedback. There is no way to talk to a human to ask questions and there chat has only canned responses and will not even let you type a question. I regret choosing Solaredge products for our solar installation. Make sure you research who has good customer support before you buy.

Our inverter stopped working after only 2-1/2 years of use. It has been an absolute NIGHTMARE getting through the warranty process with SolarEdge. Our system was down for over a month which caused us to have a large True Up bill. We got a replacement inverter but it's a downgrade from the original one we purchased so we now can't monitor our system to make sure we're generating what we need and we no longer have battery backup connections. I've tried reaching out multiple times and keep getting told they will escalate my case to upper management, then I hear NOTHING. I'm sorry but I just cannot recommend this company anymore. Do NOT waste your money, go with a company that has better customer service.

The most unreliable solar equipment I'm aware of, coupled with the most unreliable support in the market. 1/5 stars is overwhelmingly generous.

And before you respond with your embarrassing canned nonsense, you can just look me up and find my ticket like a professional and reach out through there. You do not need an additional email to tell you to do your job.

SolarEdge Post Install Product Service Sucks

The handling of the current warranty claim with my SolarEdge inverter has been horrible. They are incompetent at best.

Well, today is July 29, 2024 and I still wait having received a replacement inverter but not the needed mounting bracket so the inverter can be replaced. It failed on March 12th 2024. This is evidenced by the Site Monitoring info in the First Triggered date of the Alert Status: Inverter not producing - Energy Limit mode.

Here is the frustrating full story:

My PV system was commissioned in Oct 2014. I had two system problems post install before this. These were handled well by the company that I bought it from Sundance Power Systems. One of my SunPower solar panels was replaced two years after installation and in 2023 a power optimizer failed and was replaced. The panel replacement was done under warranty and the optimizer replacement cost $379.00. SolarEdge covered $125 labor credit. I also had a Schletter ground mounting racking problem in 2017. Two or three bolts that hold the panels on the racking system dropped off. I found them on the ground. Sundance Power Systems took care of this no problem.

In March, my site monitoring generated an Alert "Inverter not producing -
Energy Limit mode" unfortunately no email is sent as a result. I did not know about the issue until April. The SolarEdge smart phone app does not show system alerts and even though the inverter had failed the system was showing production. The production was in w's and not kw's but I did not notice that till I received a very high cost electric bill. I then had to use the my PC to access the SolarEdge Site Monitoring page for my system to see the Alert and confirm what was wrong.

A technician came on May 15 and again on May 28th to troubleshoot the problem. The first trip cost $550 the second was a follow up so no fee. He was immediately
quite sure the inverter had failed on the first trip but the Solar folks wanted to 2nd guess the analysis and required a bunch of measurement data . This was collected on the second trip. Eventually there was agreement that yes the inverter had capacitors that failed and SolarEdge claimed that my warranty had expired I had to show the SolarEdge Product Warranty I had, that specified the Inverter is covered for 12 years.

On June 20th a replacement inverter ( a newer version) was delivered to me but could not be installed because the mounting bracket was not provided with the Inverter SolarEdge had shipped. This was crazy SolarEdge had photos of my failed Inverter taken by the technician along with all the info and data. The SolarEdge site monitoring shows the installation of my PV system as 10/6/2014. So they should have known the mounting bracket for the old version was in compatible with the version they sent to replace it. Its been 5 weeks since the inverter was delivered. Still no mounting bracket. And my electric bills are costly.

Buyer beware check the reviews of the post installation product service before leasing or purchasing a Solar PV System. I would not recommend SolarEdge equipment.

Why is it so hard to get a hold of anyone at Solaredge? I have an inverter which is not working since May. I have emailed and called. It seems you can't get a person to pick up the phone. At some point I got a link to get SUPPORT. The support was to pay $99 to get a System Health Check for a system I already knew was not working because I could read it on the panel on the inverter. After a week, I had to call to see when I was going to have the report. They sent it stating that the inverter was not working since May. Really? Is that what I paid for? To read something I already knew? It seems to be a scam after a scam. The company I hired to install my solar panels in 2018 was Titan Solar Power. The company went bankrupt this May. A few days later, the system stops working. I call Solaredge...no answer. I email Solaredge in regards to the System Health Check and someone replies. I use that email to email back and know nothing about them since. We chose an installer fromtheir list of installers and have not heard back from anyone either.

I am really frustrated because it seems nobody takes responsibility for their products.
We still have to pay Tech CU monthly. This is a third party company which did the loan. We have been paying for two months after the panels stopped producing due to the inverter not working. If the company went bakrupt, I would still pay my loan, but it doesn't make sense to pay for a product that is not producing. Who in his or her right mind would pay for something that is nonexisting? We have paid monthly without failing, but now that the system is not producing and no one does anything about it, I still have to pay? This is absolutely ridiculous. That is why I had to take it to the State Contractors Board. I hope to get a solution soon. There has to be someone taking responsibility for this.

By far the worst experience
I gave them 1 star because google does not allow me 0. It's been 5 years since i got service with this company, I owe 10K to Edison, and I have gotten help at all.
All they do is blame it on Kota Energy Group, who has a regional manager, Kristen Nissen, who has the worst customer service.
SolarEdge offered $800 to help pay my debt with Edison, which is over 10k ( seriously) as of today, not even a follow-up phone call.
Really bad service
Really bad experience
Do not recommend this compa

Very misleading warranty title. I purchased a 25-year SolarEdge inverter warranty through my installer. After the system was installed I was presented with a SolarEdge warranty certificate that did not extend 25 years from installation. It turns out that is standard SolarEdge practice, based on when they shipped the unit to a middleman instead of when it was installed. It's very misleading to sell a warranty labeled as "25-year" when it won't cover 25 years of my possession of the unit.

Update: I wish I could give SolarEdge 0 stars. They never resolved the issue I previously mentioned with the duration of the extended warranty. Then my SolarEdge inverter failed after 18 months of use! My installer had to wait several weeks for a warranty replacement from SolarEdge, during which time my solar system was offline.
