SonoMarin Solar went above and beyond in their installation of solar panels and battery back-up storage. We had gotten royally played by Tesla. When forced to look for alternatives, the two biggest national solar companies tried to strong arm us into letting them become our utility provider. Sounds great up front; but within a few years, we would have been paying them more than PG&E.

SonoMarin coordinated seamlessly with our roofing contractor (Equinox Roofing), installed everything as promised and could not have more accommodating and professional. On top of that, they were able to resurrect our NEM2 application with PG&E which we thought was a lost cause when Tesla walked away from the installation. We could not recommend SonoMarin more highly!

I cannot recommend SonoMarin Solar & Electric after experiencing very unsatisfactory service requiring multiple follow ups. The company installed a generator for me. Subsequently, the carbon monoxide alarm went off inside my house whenever the generator ran for any length of time. A SonoMarin technician said he could see no reason for this. It was later determined by another company that the generator exhaust was being trapped under the front door steps and seeping through vents into the house. I also learned that SonoMarin had never closed out the county permit on their work. When alerted to this, SonoMarin agreed to close the permit out and resituate the generator but failed the inspection twice on multiple counts before it was finally approved. Even then I had to hire my solar panel company to correct a faulty wiring connection with the generator which had caused me to lose solar power for several days. SonoMarin would not acknowledge the problem and refused to reimburse me for a $250 payment to the solar company to correct the mistake.

Top shelf from beginning to end. Sonomarin was the lowest price of 4 bids I received. Local shop that seems very efficient and professional. Nick did a great job explaining how to monitor the system and they color matched the exposed conduit to blend into the house. The system operated perfectly from day one but it’s nice to know that if I ever need to troubleshoot I’ll be able to call Sonomarin and talk to a local honest person to help.

Overall very happy with the team at SonoMarin Solar. Nick was both our salesperson and installer (with a team of course) for a roof stop solar installation in the town of Sonoma.

We had an issue on install with a single panel that ended up being dead on arrival, and while it took a bit to get it replaced (supply chain is a mess right now and solar is in huge demand), Nick made multiple trips back to test, replace inverter, and eventually replace the panel.

Long story short, you can trust this companies warranty on parts and labor... which matters a lot - especially since the issue I had wasn't their fault.

The install happened faster than originally agreed, and PGE did the interconnection faster than expected (though that may have just been lucky).

I can comfortably recommend SonoMarin.

I have worked with many contractors over my 40 years in the real estate industry and can honestly say that Avner and his team provided one of my best project experiences.
Our project included the replacement of some old Solarcraft thermal panels for the pool, the installation of PV panels, the modification of the existing thermal panel system, the repair of a portion of our roof, and the addition of a storage battery. This was not a simple project and Avner coordinated every aspect of it perfectly resulting in a beautiful installation (and it actually works as advertised!). Nick took care of the final set up, permit approval and PG&E interconnection, also in truly professional fashion.
I’m not in the habit of writing reviews, but this is one outfit that really deserves five stars and some praise. Well done guys.
