I was placed here for about a year while in dcfs custody around 5-6 yrs ago. I don't know if it's gotten better but I hope so for the kids and staffs sake. I was told by my caseworker that she would come back to get me the next day just to find out I was being processed into Spero and my caseworker wasn't coming back the next day which I thank Spero for the way they treated me on that traumatizing day but the some of the staff were horrible not following protocol like wearing gloves during a search and letting kids go in your room and destroy your stuff and let other kids beat you up a little before breaking up the fight. There were 4 staff there that kept me going when I didn't want to and made sure my needs were meet I cherish them to this day and I hope the system has gotten better if it hasn't all I can say is don't let that place be the reason you give up hope on life.

As a foster parent who has dealt with a handful of different agencies, this is by far the worst one. In a span of 7 months, we have seen the caseworker only 3 times. Two of those came only after I called supervisors and advocacy. There is little to no communication, including when the caseworker is scheduled to come out and you wait and wait but NOBODY shows up or even replies to your texts. False information is given in court by caseworkers who were clearly not trained enough to even attend court, & with no concern of how the children in care are actually doing- with their bio parents or even foster parents. You voice concerns and nothing is done, no real changes are made. I will never foster through this agency again.

I lived here from 1982 until 1985. The now white house was a red brick house and it's just as beautiful now as it was then. I knew I couldn't get a tour because I was unannounced but when I asked about some of the areas I remembered the most in my house I was offered pictures of the now look. After leaving my email within a week I received not only old pictures of the house I remembered but pictures of my sister's and myself. The dining area that I remembered is much larger but I'm not sure if it's because I'm much older but the house seemed so small. I came after office hours but an employee was leaving and took down my information. She was just as polite as the employees I remembered when I was there.

Great staff if your family is in need of thier services. They work very hard at helping troubled youths identify and adjust to issues that are causing them issues. In my families case, the took our daughter when she was at a very low point and helped her come back to the amazing person we remembered her to be. It's not always pretty but they will assist in anyway possible to present the best opportunities for youths in crisis.

Don't think they have any care for the children it's more about being friends with the parents which is a conflict of interest sad but true
