A few years ago when we were looking for a new Financial Advisor, we were fortunate enough to find the team of Charles and Rebecca Green of Springboard Asset Management. We had discovered that most Financial Planners peddle commission-based "financial products", which often benefit the advisor more than the client. We wanted to find, as Suze Orman put it, "someone who doesn't sell products", and would put our interests first.

Springboard was exactly what we wanted -- independent Fee-Only consultants who earn by helping us earn. While they clearly have a general strategy and philosophy, they offer custom-tailored solutions, based on *our* priorities, needs and sensibilities (e.g. socially responsible investing, something our previous advisor had basically mocked us for). They give us sound, specific advice, and then take care of all the details according to our wishes.

I literally used to wake up in the middle of the night worrying about our money and future. I felt irresponsible, clueless, powerless and scared. I was so daunted by what felt like an overwhelming financial mess that I stuck my head in the sand.

Enter Charles and Rebecca, who helped us assess and clean up our whole financial life, not just our investments. They showed us that we were paying way too much for homeowners' insurance, but lacked an important umbrella liability policy. They helped us go through our spending with a fine-toothed comb. From the "big stuff" like funding our revocable living trust, to the nitty-gritty of making sure all of our financial documents were updated with our married names, Charles and Rebecca walked us through the unglamorous but liberating process of getting our financial house in order.
