This is a fraud company. I had signed a contract in April 2022 for the Solar panel installation. They scheduled the installation multiple times, but no one shows up during that time and they do not inform in advance also. You keep waiting for them and keep wasting your time. Despite of the multiple calls and follow up, no progress made. After waiting for a 1 year, I cancelled the contract in April 2023 and Star Enrg confirmed that I will be receiving a refund within 1 month. I still have not received a refund after 1 and half year. I tried calling them many times, no response. David blocked my number. I sent multiple emails, no response. Finally, I had sent a demand letter by my lawyer. David did not respond to the demand letter as well. I still have not received my check as of October 2024. I have decided to file a Court case now.

I contracted for solar panels, a charging port, and a battery backup in April. The salesman, David, expressed urgency in having to complete the installation before April 30 in order for me to qualify for a rebate. The installation was to take 3 days - April 15 - 17. I made arrangements to be there. Since the work commenced, there have been countless delays and visits to replace parts and modify the installation. I have been scheduled for at least 8 more appointments since the initial 3 days, and now they keep emailing the day before a scheduled appointment, canceling, and asking when I would like to reschedule. I do not have the battery or the charging port, yet, and they just canceled tomorrow's appointment, too. Plan to miss at least 2 weeks of work if you hire this company, and also plan for the installation process to take months, not days. Though the panels were installed, and they are working properly, that was not the only item for which I contracted. Throughout that process, the salesperson, David, informed me several times that he was seeing problems on the app and used my absolutely normal energy usage spikes as an excuse to keep delaying finishing my job. I wasted about $2000 in diagnostic testing of my water heaters, HVAC system, electrical panels, mini splits, hot tub..., and paying my electrician to install circuit breaker monitors to try to figure out what was wrong - which was absolutely nothing! David would call saying that he was seeing usage spikes; of course he was! I was staying there and using the house to live! It was just a delay tactic. Also, I was contacted by DelMarVa Power, because the panels were online and running, producing more than enough to power my house, but because Star Enrg had not filed my paperwork properly, DelMarVa refused to credit my production, which resulted in my having to pay my regular electric bill anyway, and I received no credit for any production. I had contracted with another solar company 3 years ago, and that company ghosted me. Once I informed the salesperson, David, of that fact, he used it as a convenient excuse for things that were going wrong. Of course, a quick call to DelMarva regarding all of these excuses proved that his statements were not true. I would rather be told the truth. If something will take months, then tell me. If you can be home for weeks, if you can cancel plans, vacations, and work for no reason when they do not show up as scheduled, if you have nothing better to do than to wait for a contractor to finish your job after they are in possession of tens of thousands of your dollars, then by all means, this is your company! It is extremely unfortunate, because the actual product is superb

We were very hopeful and excited about our solar system at the start, but have had little but disappointment at this point. We are currently 20 months past our contracted end date of Feb 2022, and we have 1/3 of the panels, 1 out of 2 inverters, no battery, nothing hooked up to the grid and running, and no one on site for 2 months. We have, however, had numerous emails, conversations, cancellations and no shows. The workers blame the office staff, the project manager says the workers make their own schedules, the owner no longer responds to any emails, texts or calls. We tried mediation through the state and were told due to the high volume of complaints, to file criminal charges. SO this is what we have decided to do. Both the owner, David, and the project managers, Blanca and Stephanie, have been named in our criminal charges. In the unlikely event that they decide to stop their pyramid scheme, we will consider dropping charges, however they now owe us more than our balance due in back electric bills according the the contract. Don't believe the reviews claiming they are posted by non-customers I have no doubt many people have been screwed over like we have. Thankfully not only the owner but the "project manager" Blanca, who has lied to us repeatedly, are both able to be held criminally liable for our large install project. So unfortunate. Never, ever use this company for anything.

EDIT: 3 days after posting out review, a crew showed up and finally installed the rest of the panels and hooked them up to the existing inverter. Only about half of them would generate energy, they said, because we still need a second inverter as well as the battery back up that we paid for. However they said we'd be generating energy from some of the panels, but when we asked said we won't be be able to track that until it's set up in their system. Haven't heard from them since, and our newest electric bill came and shows no reduction at all in usage or cost. It hasn't been inspected yet, so for all we know it was an attempt to avoid prosecution but isn't really hooked up to the grid at all. I guess time will tell. Should this ever get resolved, I will update again.

UPDATE: no progress in the last 24 months. Still waiting for something I paid for. The strange thing is that I paid for another solar installation by Star Enrg a few hundred yards away and they did install that one with maybe an 7 month delay. It works very well and the workmanship was good. So I am really mystified.

I’ve been waiting 18 months (supposed to be done February 2021!) now for my system to be installed. It’s half done (just the panels), an eyesore. All checks were cashed before the milestones of installation were reached and now my calls get ignored. Occasionally, a commitment is made to be out at the property to work towards finishing this project but so far these were just empty promises. This company will soon be in litigation if this is not resolved soon. I’m done pleading.

Today is August 22, 2023, the day my battery was scheduled to be installed (again). I paid for my solar system in February and installation was to be completed in March, depending in weather. In reality, the system became operational in mid-May, but the battery was not installed. It is now mid-August, and the battery is STILL not installed. I've been told the unit needs a card of some sort. For three months?
It is now January 31, 2024. The battery is STILL not installed, nor are additional panels needed to get the system to actually work efficiently.

Well, here I am having to write a negative Google review. When we first decided to use Star Energy most reviews were glowing... unfortunately since that decision (almost a year ago), there are multiple one star reviews popping up. My only solace is that we are not alone.
We signed our contract with Star Energy in August 2022 with installation to be completed in September 2022. Here we are in July 2023 with one inverter out of two, and no panels... We took out our solar loan in August 2022 and have been paying on it for almost a year with no solar. The way the contract was written, we have already paid Star Energy the majority of the cost... we have a small final payment withheld but have no way of getting our other money back.
I am shocked at their lack of communication and constant promises that are continuously broken. We are scheduled, cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled, etc. We are told it will be done within 5 days only for another month to pass. We have had electricians show up with the wrong equipment and asking us what is supposed to be installed instead of knowing. We have had the owner of the company insult us via text.
At this point, this is a nightmare. We are so worried we will be paying a solar loan for the next 15 years with no solar.
The kicker is, even if we ever get solar, this company holds all of our warranties... so "one starring" them, although 1000% justified, may only be damaging ourselves and my fellow fed up Star Energy customers.
WHAT A MESS. Maybe there will be a happy resolution at the end and if so I will certainly revise this review. Until then, I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who wishes to keep their mental sanity.

The company is a scam!I DO NOT RECOMMEND to hire them to install solar panels. They are liars, scammers and don't care about their customers according to our experience of doing business with them. We signed a contract to install solar panels along with replacing the roof on April 18, 2022 and till today we are still waiting for the panel installation (20 panels). Last week I was shocked when I got a call from them on another of our phones and Blanca asked if I was still interested in panel installation.... Are you serious? Are you kidding? I have been waiting for your installation for more than 10 months and you call to find a new client even though you didn't finish your job with current clients?! All they said and kept saying is bullshirt! All of this is unacceptable! Avoid this company if you don't want to waste your money, time and fray nerves!
I  have believed David twice: the first time when he came to our house before signing the contract and the second time - more than a month ago, when we asked him to come to talk about the unacceptable situation with solar panels, but we were wrong about him. We have no choice than to start a legal case to get our money back. We emphasize once again - do not choose this company for the solar panels installation.

Fraud company with no professionalism. I have signed the contract since April 2022 and yet my project is not fully completed. From my community people are still trying to follow up to get their work done and at least 5 families have backed out from the project asking for money back. Whenever you call they will get your details and tell you will get back but never happens. Every month they schedule the appointment and move it for next month. They don't even have a courtesy to call back and inform you about not meeting the appointment date. You need to call 1 day before just to hear that appointment is moved for next month and that keeps on happening. Would suggest not to entertain these guys.
