When I scheduled my service call from this company, I explained that the plastic water supply tubing coming from the house to the freezer had a crack in it and was dripping. Further, that I had turned off the water supply to the freezer to temporarily solve the problem and that I needed them to take care of the leak. The technician came to my house, inspected the freezer and said that the plastic water supply hose wads leaking, that it is part of the plumbing and not part of the freezer and that I needed to call a plumber instead of calling Sterling. He then charged me $157 for this information. When I called the company and complained that I was charged in this way I was told that the company does not rely on what the customer tells them and has to inspect problems for themselves --- and therefore the charge would not be removed. I told the representative that when I was scheduling the appointment, I should've been told that if the problem in fact was with the water supply tubing, Sterling would not be effecting any repairs, and that I would need to call a plumber instead. Sterling should've told me that the tubing I was talking about when scheduling the service was not considered part of the freezer. I explained that the charge was not OK with me and that if they were going to stay with this charge, I was not going to be able to use them in the future and the representative said that that was OK too. So the charge stands and I will no longer use Sterling. So disappointed in Sterling Service Group.

Dave was extremely professional and full of appliance knowledge. Sub-Zero doesn't make this size of refrigerator or freezer anymore so we''ll be using Sterling Service for the yearly maintenance. It's great that he was also able to service my Viking range and refrigerator. Highly recommend using this company!

JUST HORRIBLE!   Had Sterling rebuild (compressor, evaporator and heat exchanger and so forth) for a Subzero refrigerated drawer (700BR2) that stopped working June 15 2021. The cost for doing so was $1,482.47. A month ago in January 2024, I called them because it's not working again. After charging me $157.00 for a service call again, they said the unit burned out and it would have to be rebuilt again! Cost now aprox. $2,000. I was told by the technician that I probably got a bad unit and that unfortunately the warranty was only for 1 year. But I should try and rebuild the unit again, he said!  WOW ! !  How do I know I'm not going to get a bad one again?  SAVE YOUR MONEY,  avoid this place.

We bought a house with an old sub-zero that was running warm, with the refrigerator section at about 46-48 degrees. The original supplier and servicer told us it couldn't be saved without even looking at it. Dave from Sterling performed a wellness check on the unit and knew within just a few minutes exactly what was wrong and what parts were needed. The sub-zero is now working perfectly and is running VERY QUIET (it always hummed before). Would definitely recommend calling them if your model is something they service.

Called for a straightforward repair. Broken spring on my fridge door. The representative on the phone didn't want to give me an estimate without charging me for a service call. Said he "wasn't feeling good" about our conversation. I had to have a manager call me back. They then quoted me more than double the price of anyone else. $1300 for a $40 part! Poor customer service and price gouging. I did not have them service my appliance.

We have used Sterling for years and we were very happy with their service until last week. We had a repairman for our Sub-Zero. I specifically asked him if he vacuumed the condenser and he said that he blew air on it. Today, I vacuumed the condenser and was shocked by the amount of dust removed. Directions to clean the condenser on the Sub-Zero website specify- "In all Sub-Zero Built-In and Pro 48 models, the condenser is located behind the grill. First pull out on the bottom edge of the grill and tilt forward. Then using a soft bristle brush vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser." I wasted my money on this service call and will not use them again.

I would like to modify my review- Shortly after posting the owner of Sterling offered to make it right. He deducted the cost of the first service from the cost of a second visit that we had today. This service person was great and did the work as needed. We are again very happy with Sterling and want to change our review to 5 stars. Mistakes do happen and it's how businesses handle mistakes that defines their business.
