I really wish I could select half a star. I am completely frustrated with the service. Recently fiber cable has been installed around the neighborhood. The city has tore up our yard and driveway pavement, that’s number 1. Number 2 a couple days later a city knocked on our doors. Stating there was a water main break and they will need to cut off our water for an hour. Ever since then our water pressure has been significantly low. I have contacted the city. They sent out a city worker and stated nothing is wrong our line. We mY have a leak in our home and to contact a plumber. I contacted the plumber. The plumber didn’t see any signs of a leak. I called back the city and stated again “ma’am it’s not on our end” . I have never in my life experienced such craziness. It’s going on 5 days now and water pressure is still
LOW. This has been disgusting. I am livid!!!!

So I sent them an email but their server bounced it back. The water rates in Suffolk are highway robbery. And they can just get away with it because who else are you going to get water from? Please help me to understand why the water bill for out clinic in Suffolk is more than 10 times higher than any of our 16 other clinics in Virginia with the same monthly usage. How do you justify such outrageous rates? Its difficult enough to run a health care business without nearly a thousand dollars a month going literally straight down the drain.

If there's a rating less than one star, it will still not be enough to grade the very poor customer service of the Suffolk Public Utilities. We have called several times to ask why our water bill has increased more than 3 times over the course of 3 months. Their response of "maybe you have a water leak" every time we call is dismissive and shows no customer focus for an organization that is supposed to be service oriented. Well, we are certain that we have no leak, so THERE is a reason why our bill is 3 times higher. They said they will send someone to check our water meter but after over a month, the person has not shown up. Suffolk Public Utilities, do not just take our money and act like your system is error free. Listen to your customers and find out if YOU can help. After all, they pay your salaries.

I've lived in Suffolk for about a year and half now and let me tell you, the water situation has been horrendous. I have had extremely high water bills on three different occasions and some how they miraculously go back down without anything being fixed. Not to mention the water in this area is high anyway, like another review mentioned something shady is going on. But now my complex has had a busted pipe for at least two months now. It just now got "repaired" about 4 days ago and now it's leaking again and worse than it was before they "fixed" it. I called twice and no one has been put to look at it yet. I've just been told "it's in their system and they'll get to it when they get to it". I'm sorry, but that is completely unacceptable for a broken pipe that is currently flooding my parking lot.

Trying to help out my sister-in-law, moving from Florida. The water company let us know what time to be there 1-5, I went to talk to them to see if they could give me a more exact timeframe or possibly even a call 30 minutes out like most companies do.

The representative on the phone didn’t seem to want to help at all and let me know that there was no other options and that I would have to sit in a completely empty house that hasn’t been moved in for four hours waiting for possibly them to show up and turn on the water.

There need to be a change in the companies policy, or the drivers need to have a phone so that they can call 30 minutes out. This way people with other lives can plan their life around it instead of wasting four hours of their time waiting.

If this rating was solely based on the crews who came out to fix the issue, it would’ve been 5/5.

Unfortunately the employees that you have to speak with are extremely rude and impatient. I understand working in customer service can be taxing, but to start off every conversation with a bad attitude is off putting.

Terrible service. The city is representing all people in Suffolk.
Suffolk residents hava no choie but using city water. Suffolk city water treat us so bad and so irresponsible.
Life is hard enough, due with people in this department is even worst. I work hard to get pay so these employee need to work hard and responsible to desever their pay too.
