I couldn’t be more pleased by the house, location, attention to detail, amenities, and the people behind the scenes, keeping it all running smoothly. The house feels like a home. Hot tub, clean and perfect place to sit quietly, watching the heavens, keep an eye out for shooting stars. Great gas bbq, as well as fire pit, perfect for s’mores. We were there for family gathering, and nothing feels more like coming home, than making and enjoying food together, and the large, well appointed, kitchen, helped make that happen. A special thank you to Bethany, working with Tahoe Rental Company. She was essential in making this this trip hassle-free, and keeping in communication. 10/10 will go with this company again

We rented a 3-bedroom cabin for 6 people (2 parents and 4 children aged 10 to 15) from Tahoe Rentals Company through VRBO. We encountered several issues that need addressing:

1. Booking Changes: Initially booked for 8 days, we were informed a few days before our vacation that the cabin would only be available for 5 days due to the owner's request. This last-minute change was highly inconvenient and forced us to alter our plans.

2. Toilet Paper Supply: We were provided only 3 rolls of toilet paper for the entire duration of our stay.

3. Cleanliness: While the kitchen was clean and appeared new, other parts of the property, including the front porch and two balconies, were not clean and had spider webs.

4. Security Issues: Two porch doors were not lockable, posing a security risk. Although sticks were provided to secure the doors, one stick was too short, leaving the door partially open. Despite a staff member acknowledging the issue and promising a technician visit on Monday (we rented from Saturday to Saturday), no one came to fix the problem.

5. Lack of Air Conditioning: The condo did not have air conditioning, and only three fans were provided for six people. Requests for additional fans or a portable AC were denied. This made the condo uncomfortably hot during the day, affecting our ability to enjoy the space and sleep at night.

6. Laundry Supplies: We were given enough laundry pods for only 4 days, despite an 8-day stay.

7. Damaged Insect Screens: The balcony insect screens were torn and not properly fitted, leading to mosquito problems. This issue was acknowledged by the staff but remained unresolved during our stay.

8. Check-Out Instructions: The check-out instructions required us to take out all trash, strip the bed linens, start a load of laundry, and clean the kitchen, with the threat of additional charges if not followed. Considering the rental cost, these instructions were unreasonable.

Overall, our experience with Tahoe Rentals Company was disappointing due to the numerous issues and lack of resolution, which significantly impacted our vacation.

Loved our vacation rental with Tahoe Rental Company! The house was perfect, clean, and comfortable. The office was clear and helpful with arrival instructions and responsive when I had any questions! I look forward to booking with them again sometime!

The home we rented was beautiful and spacious, with lots of beds. We were able to rent it last minute.

Cleanliness and Hygiene: 2 pillow cases dirty, a dirty sock (not ours) under the sheets, an open bottle of water next to the bed in the main bedroom upon checkin, cobweb on the walls, a pan with used oil in the oven, human nail between coach cushions, filthy mattress cover after sheets are stripped

Maintenance issues: tv remote not working with the TV

Essentials: only two pans in the kitchen, both in unusable condition, almost empty plastic wrap and foil, 1.5 rolls of toilet paper and 2 bath towels per bathroom for a home with 12 beds, zero shower supplies

Trash: if bear box is overflowing after the checkout (even if others used up most of it) you get charged

Checkout time: unreasonable at 10am

We messaged the Tahoe Rental a few times and they brought 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 pans, aluminum foil and plastic wrap. They asked if we wanted cleaning crew to re-clean but we were already unpacked at that point and did not want to be disturbed

"We really appreciated staying in this beautiful and cozy home, very well situated and not a far drive from skiing at Palisades. Everything was terrific and very comfortable. This home is well appointed and there was plenty of space for our family of five. It was a welcoming place to return to after our days of skiing. Our young adults loved the pool table and sauna. Views of the pines were spectacular from the many windows, especially after the snow storm. We would recommend this home to any of our friends!"

Thank you Tahoe Rental Company. We enjoyed staying in this amazing home during our winter vacation. The home was large, clean, and a great space to accommodate our families and friends. The home is exactly as pictured. The House is in great condition, open communal area of the kitchen, living & dining room for the whole family to congregate in, bedrooms are all spacious. The driveway is large enough to accommodate all our cars. Tahoe Rental Company had great communication. I would stay again & recommend it!

I am fully aware of this vacation rentals cancellation and refund policy as I read and signed this before completing my booking. However, little bit of human touch, consideration and empathy would have gone a far way… I basically gathered our savings from the whole family to put this once in a lifetime trip together (Dec 25-Dec29). We were so excited and thrilled to go to this trip and get together with all the family under one roof after so many years of being apart. Last minute, my father had a brain aneurysm and was hospitalized in ICU with urgent need of brain surgery. I reached out to them informing them of the matters and even providing them with the proof of letter from the hospitals ICU team. The response was, if we can manage to put the rental back in the market and get it rented for the same exact date, then and only then, we MIGHT be able to provide you with the cleaning fee and taxes portion. I appreciate the consideration, however, that’s more of an insult than anything during a time like this with what we’re going through. This rental was over $5,600 and I mean it when I say we had to use our family savings to do this once in a lifetime trip at this beautiful cabin. Having our refund back would allow us to cover just a small portion, from a large ongoing, medical bill for my dad’s procedures. However, sadly even with proof that this is not just an excuse to get out of this reservation, this company rather chose profit over human dignity.

I simply left this review here for anyone who’s planning to book with this company to know that they truly do follow through with their policies. Doesn’t matter if your travel plans change because of a dead or ill relative, they want their money and don’t care what you’re going through. If that means anything to you, do think twice before you book with them and do for sure get insurance. We didn’t because I never expected my dad to have such a life threatening illness. Even then, most other hosts I have dealt with in the past take care of you with no hesitation when you’re going through such hard times like this. I’m sure the owner of our rental doesn’t even know about this situation, it’s this Tahoe rental company that’s making the decision on their behalf.

This lakefront home was perfect! Every morning promised a gorgeous sunrise over Lake Tahoe! The home is very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. With three couples staying here, there was plenty of seating, and we never felt crowded. Definitely would stay here again.
