I have an oil heater; but yet last winter from Jan-Feb my bill was $250-$300 and I have no electric heaters, no central air or heat! As well I can tell when my bill is low; because I get power surges and power outages during the billing cycle, which makes your meter jump. I have been watching this process for 6 yrs. I am just waiting to collect more data to create a class action against this power company.

I dont pay for my power to always just go out for absolutely no reason! I'm too fat for no AC then I was about to watch me a good movie now all I'm watching is sweat starting to form on my skin BECAUSE the power is OUT

Calling them is no help at all. They cannot give you any idea whan the power can be restored and are not nice at all in talking with you. The guys that work outside are great, but their office people leave much to be desired.

Apparently they will just cut trees down and drop them in peoples yards without any notice or communication on when they will be picked up.

I haven’t had Tarrant Electric’s service for 6 months and my power has gone out more than twice for over 4 hrs in the middle of the cold night! When you call the emergency line, they NEVER have an estimated time on when the power will be back on. This time when I called, a power pole was down (which sounded like a lie) and there is no ETA! Well power lines must fall down every time it sprinkles outside!!! It is currently 4:30 AM and I’ve been in the dark with no heat with my children since midnight! How I wish I could transfer to Alabama Power!!!

The absolute worst. I love the city but truly hate the electric company entirely. All types of hidden fees. They cut you power off no notice. Bills are sent whenever someone remembers to send them out. I wish they had the older ladies back in there. I have never had a problem with paying my bill. I even tried to get smart and pay in cash hours before closing and boom disconnected. Please just turn it over to Alabama Power.

Terrible power company I have ever experienced in my whole life! Rude incompetent employees and nothing is ever organized down there. No more payment arrangements is uterly ridiculous! Plus they add on all these hidden extra fees to magority lower income black families. If ya'll don't want blacks over here just say that! I can go on & on with this company but I'll let the rest of the bad reviews ya'll have gotten to speak for itself. O yea one more thing I live in a three bedroom house. It's only me and my daughter and my powerbill for December was $450.00 and for January it was over $500.00. How is that even possible!!!? Highway robbery if you ask me! I say we all get together and file a fraud action suit against them! I believe we have a case!

If I could rate a ZERO I would. Not only are they WAY more expensive than any other electric company I’ve used in the past, they absolutely genuinely DO NOT CARE about the residents of Tarrant.
When you call you will almost always get rerouted to their overflow number (where no one can answer any questions). They only allow TWO special payment arrangements PER YEAR and will NOT tell you this until AFTER you’ve used those two arrangements. Late fees are added to the bill after the 5th AND onto your NEXT BILL. Also if you pay online the day before or on their disconnect date (15th of each month), you HAVE to call them otherwise your power might be disconnected and a reconnect fee must be paid before they will allow YOU to turn your power back on, even though THEY are the ones who FAILED to notice that a payment had been made.
