After Hurricane Milton we reported a tree leaning directly onto the pole that was affecting multiple residents power. After the first emergency work order was placed, they said it would be completed by 10/17. We needed to place a SECOND emergency work order ticket on 10/18 after NO ONE CAME OUT and the representative over the phone was extremely rude. She never said what happened to the first ticket either, refused to give a general ETA, and when asked if we could enroll into an email update program, she got very snotty and barked a no at me. If there was another electric company we could go to, we would, instead we’re stuck waiting for TECO with no update on when we can return to our home. It’s been over a week and a half and they won’t even tell us when they’ll be there!

We live in an apartment near TECO and are their paying customers, but we constantly experience power outages. Our refrigerator loses power, causing our food to spoil. Our air conditioning shuts down, leaving us stuck in unbearable 80°F nights without cooling. Their service is extremely unreliable, and these outages happen far too often. Poor operation and power supply—truly frustrating and unacceptable!

I laugh how they brag about financial assistance but when you ask they say you don’t qualify because your account has been late. Yes, if I had money then I wouldn’t be late hence why the financial assistance has been requested and needed. Then when you ask about it they hit you with a $600 security deposit.

These guys are crooks. They take a $500 deposit for ALL new customers and then never give it back to you. They claim they will after 2 years payment history, but if you move to a new address or buy a home, the clock restarts. Even their own people don't know the rules and give bad information. They kept both accounts active for months during a simple move and had to call multiple times to straighten out. It's a monopoly so there's literally nothing you can do about it.

Just had some TECO Subcontractors out replacing poles along street, Took photos after work was completed, They left undermined sidewalks, Ruts from trucks operating along ROW instead of road and thought it would be a great idea to Trim Live Oak on my property and leave the limbs for me to cleanup, Very disappointed but I guess thats now how Tampa Electric Company operates.

During this very trying time, after hurricane Helene, I see TECO Trucks everywhere I have had to go. Lost my power for 4 hours. Not everyone will get theirs back so fast. I live in a small 55+ Community with many people dependent on medical devices. A bit more important than what most of you are posting about, not all. Your fancy homes and cars will take a backseat. Take some of your money and have whole house generators installed, but you probably can't get your hands on those now. Cudo's to TECO Employees. No matter the company, not all employees are good people. If you live by the water, thank God you're alive. Hope your power is restored soon. But, a lot of people need to seriously look at what you have post.

Every time my power goes out by other friends in Florida remind me that I have TECO and their power is still on and they have Duke Energy. The grid is totally unreliable. I talked to linemen down the street from me making repairs and they said they've done all they can do to get our power back. We're just waiting for someone back at the plant to turn the grid back on. It's been 6 hours.

I wish I had another choice other than TECO. Horrible. Gave the status of “assembling crews” ALL DAY!!! Thanks for wasting a whole day of not working on something. We had power for 10 minutes then y’all split and left us with cops blocking the road for two days. Why are we constantly faced with rate increases when the quality of service remains just as bad as ever Oh, by the way, their holding company is based in Canada. Why exactly are we trusting another COUNTRY with our energy needs?
