I mean look, they do some good stuff, if all you care about is recycling batteries (which is important, but change your name Texas Campaign on E-Waste). They rely on a new batch of replaceable college kids every summer to get the job done, which means they don't want to give a living wage to people who could actually do this as a career. The canvassers are pushing to be unionized so they have some protections for their job and don't have to spend 2-3 days a week crying on some curb in some Texas suburb because they might not be able to pay their rent, but the "progressive" higher ups (cough Robin Schneider) don't want their employees to be able to pay their bills. I say this as someone who canvassed for this group for about two years in the Dallas area (the normal turn over is a few days). So, it's not like I'm just making this stuff up. As someone that sees the good that has come from the blood, sweat, and tears of college kids and a few others that just want to do right in the world, I wish those people who worked so hard were not thrown in the garbage like the batteries this company wants to recycle.

One of these guys came to my door and I politely said I wasn't interested. My uncle just died and I was on the phone getting the information about his final arrangements when they knocked. They let the air out of one of the tires on my mother's car which happened to be in the driveway. My mother got one house down before the tire came off the rim. I wouldn't blame them, but the neighbor across the street saw this guy kneeling beside the car. The tire was ruined and more importantly my mother could have been in an accident. Honestly we don't have money to waste on replacing tires. I hope I don't see one of these jerks again.

This is one of the most effective environmental advocacy groups in Texas. They are leaders on progressive policy issues at the local, state and national levels. They are a lean and well-managed group that does a lot on a limited budget. They deserve your support!

These guys have done a lot of good for the planet.

I'm amazed at the user who claimed they're partisan because their work negatively affects oil companies. There's a difference between supporting local business and letting your wallet dictate your ethics.

They are a honor to work with and are changing the world for the better. They recognize that there is only one earth, and it is at risk. Great work and great people.

A good group of people concerned for our environment. Like trying to get laws passed prohibiting electronics from being put in landfills...ie. computers, monitors, etc. It's a shame that it's legal to do this!
