I am very frustrated with a pointless regulation from TCEQ requiring multiple water meters on a single family property. I am being forced to either cut off the water to a guest house on my property (where my 84 year old mother lives) or pay $12,500 to install a second water meter and second water line from the road 1,000 ft away. I have a single family lot with a smaller guest house adjacent to the main house. There has been only 1 water meter and water line since the 1990's, but now I am being told that is against their regulations and there are no exceptions and no ability to grandfather in a 25 year old property. My option is to spend thousands of dollars to install a redundant line to a house that already has a perfectly adequate water service, or completely cut off water service to one of the buildings. I was not given a satisfactory explanation for this requirement on a single family lot. This is a huge burden to myself and my mother. I appreciate TCEQ taking time to talk with me by phone regarding this issue, but this policy should be changed.

we run a junk removal business and as such we much be in compliance with some of the rules/code and understanding all of it was a little complex but the good people at TCEQ made it easier to understand with phone support (Charlie A). So to other places that have to deal with this state wide body i suggest if you have issues CALL the right people and you will get good support.

Fail to enforce regulations of water safety so that entire communities pay exorbitant prices for water that is so hard and disgusting that it harms peoples’ skin and hair, their appliances, water heaters, and is not drinkable.
