On Route 66, across from The Litchfield Route 66 Museum and next door to a classic bakery.
Walking into the restaurant immediately takes you back to an earlier generation with their chrome counter, cloth tablecloths, original signage and friendly staff.
Large menu of home cooked meals including a large soup and salad bar offered with most entrees.
Recommend the fried chicken.
Lots of staff that eagerly engaged in conversation and made offers to take our groups picture.

Amazing historic café. Came to it by accident and was absolutely delighted. The beer was cold the food was amazing. Amazing quality for the price. The fact of getting soup and a salad bar included makes even the biggest hunger be diminished. Around $30 USD per person.

Decided to try this gem off of route 66. The food and server were amazing. She and the others were really working fast. But the theme and that it felt short staffed made it uncomfortable. It's a cafe trying to be fancy, poor servers have to lift a huge dessert tray to every table. No dessert menu to look at. Took awhile to get our drinks and the menu is so vast. I understand wanting to appeal to everyone, but I feel bad for the kitchen. I feel if they simplify the menu and keep the cafe theme more casual it wouldn't be weird for out of towners expecting a casual place walking into a trying to be formal one.

This place was great! Along the historic Rt66. It is one of the oldest continuous working restaurants along the route. The servers are in white shirts and ties! The food was amazing! Hot and delicious. They were able to accommodate our grout of 17 without a problem. It was at closing by the time we left, so we were able to get some great pictures. They even let us behind the counter! Everyone was so nice and helpful.

Very cool and historic place to eat. Our server Ariel was very nice and service was fantastic. Had the hamburger horseshoe and my mom had the prime rib. They have the best salad bar out there which is like a meal itself. You also get free dessert with your meal. If you are ever in the area you must stop in

Driving to Oklahoma from Chicago and I was needing to find a place to get a bite. I exited off the highway and found this little gem. I was really glad I did, reminds me of grandmas good home meals. The place I found is full of history, service is great also. Would recommend and will stop in if I’m nearby again.

The night photo is kitty-corner across the street of the local museum. In front of the museum is a restored WWII-era lit sign originally used at a Route 66 gas station.

The Ariston Cafe is my favorite 66 eatery. It is on an "older section" of the historic highway, a block east of the double-laner. I found it hard to find the first time I went there.

Going into Ariston's is a "Back to the Future" experience. This 1940s supper club has great service, food and ambiance. Lots of menu choices, wonderful salad bar. Prices are less than big city prices and frequented by locals as a fancy night out.

We stopped in on a whim while traveling on a Sunday afternoon. I was very pleasantly surprised! We had the Sunday Brunch buffet and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh and home made. Even the soups, salad dressings, beets, and bean salads on the buffet were home made. No one does that anymore! They serve real food like people used to have for Sunday gatherings and it's prepared well. I had roasted beef, a small portion of fried fish, green beans, honey carrots, beets, been salad, and cucumber salad. I also had (home made, not from a box mix) banana cream pie for dessert. Even when we ordered the buffet the waiter brought us sauces and attended to our needs. I wish we had a restaurant like this one where I live. I will definitely be back when visiting family in the area.
