I recently reviewed this establishment for my facebook blog: SouthrnGritsKitchen. The food was fabulous, the service was perfectly splendid, and of course who wouldn't love the atmosphere of this place. I love the vintage chic vibe that's portrayed at The Ginger Root, it goes hand in hand with the majority of their menu. Chef Justin has impeccable talent. Definitely worth the drive. Might I add, their potatoes are homemade ? can't believe every review you read ?.

Located on Main Street in Samson, AL. An eclectic little restaurant in a building that makes me want to pull out my camera ! We’ve been many times, but each time is a different experience from the last…the food was amazing, the service was good, everything was moderately priced ,and as stated earlier.. I love the building that houses it ?

My wife and I love to support local, small business as much as we can. We had heard the positive reviews of The Ginger Root in Samson, Alabama and knew it was a place we should try. It did not disappoint! The prime rib was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. The lobster tails were excellent, and you can't go wrong on your choice of sides. We ended the evening with the Crème brûlée that was light and creamy. It was a perfect ending to a fantastic dinner! So, if you are looking for a place to celebrate one of life's moments like a birthday or anniversary and you are in SE Alabama, check out The Ginger Root!

The pork belly and Brussel sprouts were amazing! The shrimp was good, mashed potatoes were instant (not a fan), collard greens (not the hype they portray online) they were just “ok”. The grouper and risotto were good. It was busy so service was a bit slow but overall; nice place. We will be back ❤️

The waitress was so sweet and very helpful! The food was very delicious, felt very upscale but hometown friendly. Only recommendation is to use less salt, but other than that it was perfect!

Well, well, what a hidden gem in Samson. I was given a suggestion for an awesome place to try. And here it is, The Ginger Root in Samson. We totally enjoy our dinner. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection. The Chicken Piccata was tender and full of flavor. Oh, and those biscuits, yum! I could have eaten a dozen. They were small. Lol
We will be back. I am very interested in trying more on the menu.
If you just take a little drive for something new for a wonderful dinner, here it is.

Our first time there and and it was fabulous. Our waitress was great even making sure my steak was just right. Bread pudding was very good as well. We will definitely be back!!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Well worth the drive and the service was fantastic. Good selection of wine and alcohol and the food was cooked spot on. Would definitely return for another date night. Try the duck or ribeye, can’t go wrong.
