My experience was more negative which is a shame as I’d been once before and that had been a brilliant experience with Becky.
When I first arrived for my appointment it seemed quiet and relaxed. I was booked with Lucy but she was still with a client so I was given a seat and drink while I waited.
When Lucy was finally available we talked through what I wanted doing… Hair cut to a mid length style, balayage and to touch up a few greys on the top of my head. I had mentioned that Tyler suggested a half head of highlights but I said I would prefer balayage.
My experience just seemed to get worse after this point.
Peroxide was put on my hair too thick at the back. I was left waiting longer than I should have done to have this rinsed off (I was told by Lucy she would be back in about 40 minutes and I didn’t see anyone for nearly an hour).
I was then taken over to the sinks and a older looking man rinsed my hair and it felt like he was ripping the foils out while he was doing it which was not relaxing. Again, sat waiting for 10 minutes or so with wet hair. Then my hair was shampooed, toner put on, washed again and then dried. When I finally saw what I looked like, I had aged 30 years! I took photos as I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had more grey hairs in my hair than what I originally came in with (which wasn’t a lot). The overall colouring experience was not great! More toner was put on my hair after this to calm down the grey, this gave me a weird mucky colour in places and didn’t look right on my naturally dark brown hair. It certainly wasn’t the balayage look I was going for, I don’t know what I’ve actually paid for if I’m honest?
I tried to stay positive about the experience thinking it’s just a new look for me, but when I got home and really looked at what had been done I realised that the only thing that had been done right was the hair cut. The colour that had been put on my hair was horrible, I had white patches really bad at the back and really streaky highlights on the top of my head.
I phoned the next day and let them know that I wasn’t happy. Lucy and the apprentice helping her repeatedly told me the day before that if I left and didn’t feel happy with what had been done to ring and let them know so I could come back.
When I went back in I was given a root smudge and toner put all over my hair then left for 25 minutes for this to set in. Once this was rinsed and washed out it did look a lot better but it didn’t really look like I had highlights anymore. I was warned not to wash my hair that much to prevent the toner from coming out.
So overall I’m not really satisfied still. £145 for a hair cut and a botched hair colour/ style. I also paid £15 for parking in town over two days to try and get my hair sorted.
I can’t fault the apprentice who helped that day, she was really lovely and did everything that was asked of her.
But I think my experience could have been a lot better if Lucy didn’t have to juggle so many clients at once. Maybe that extra time doing my hair could have gone a lot better.
I just feel deflated after this experience which was a gift from my partner so I could finally go pamper myself after giving birth to our first baby.
I don’t think I’ll be coming here again and won’t be recommending this place to friends and family.
