Avoid at All Costs – Complete Waste of Time and Money
If you're considering joining the Trinity County Chamber of Commerce, don't bother. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment. I filled out their application months ago and paid my dues via PayPal, only to experience an absolute disaster of an experience. Here’s a breakdown of the nightmare:
Exorbitant Fees for Minimal Benefits
They charge $5–$10 for every link to your socials and an additional fee for each image after the first. It feels like they’re nickel-and-diming you for what should be standard features of a membership.
Zero Communication
It’s been three months since I submitted everything, and I’ve received no listing, no follow-up calls, and no return emails. I've called 2–5 times a week for two months straight and still can’t get a single meaningful response. The person who answers the phone has no helpful information other than the cost and "just fill out the application."
No Effort from Their End
Despite offering to upgrade their outdated website and CRM for free (yes, free!), they showed no interest whatsoever. This lack of vision and effort is shocking, especially for an organization that’s supposed to support local businesses.
No Physical Office
There’s no actual building, just a random point of contact who seems completely out of the loop.
After three decades as an entrepreneur, this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Chamber of Commerce. I highly recommend the Weaverville Chamber of Commerce, which I am a proud member of, for their professionalism and genuine support of local businesses.
As for Trinity County, I don’t even want a refund—just my time and effort back. Avoid this so-called Chamber of Commerce at all costs. They’ve done nothing to support or engage with me or my business. What a rip-off.
