Wind Cave Trail is an awesome little hike. Awesome sunsets at Usery too. Dog friendly - but make sure they can do the elevation. Love it here.

Usery Mountain Regional Park.
When My husband and I lived in east Mesa 2004-2011, we hiked the 7-9 mile rail every New Years day. Cut to April 2024 , 13 years older and clearly out of shape. The trail was even more beautiful that I remembered. We got a good hike in and I'm not gonna lie , I wanted to give up , sit down on the ground and cry ( in the scarcely found shade , of course) but I didn't . We ended up walking just shy of the not intended 9 miles . The hubs got turned around and since there was no one to ask directions ( hahahahaha) we kept on walking. All in all, I would do it again but in cooler weather.

Great state park. Wide road leading to large and level sites. Awesome, well marked hiking trails. Clean showerhouse. Beware of critters. We had a juvenile Mojave Green rattlesnake crawl through our site.

Usery Mountain Regional Park isn't just a campground, it's an escape into the heart of the Sonoran Desert.
Unfortunately we could spent only 3 nights there but let me tell you, it was pure magic.
The sites are like little desert havens. We had plenty of room to spread out with our RV. The privacy between sites was great, thanks to the natural desert vegetation. Each spot came with a picnic table, fire ring, and a grill, perfect for enjoying meals under the endless Arizona sky.
One of the biggest perks for us was the direct access to hiking and biking trails. The park itself is beautiful, with cacti galore and stunning mountain views.
Last but not least, the park staff at Usery Mountain deserve a shoutout! Incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and proud of they are doing that it's such a rare quality these days.

Beautiful park with nice flat hiking trails which are great for kids. Campsites are well spaced apart providing for peace and quiet other than a bit of distant road noise. We live local and this place is a gem for a night "away" without much effort.

Love to hike Usery Mountain! So many trails for all different levels of hikers. Did Wind Cave Trail today. 3 miles in and out. Beautiful weather, no snakes in winter...but watch this trail for snakes starting in April as there are lots of rocks and boulders. Me, personally, won't hike this in the spring/summer because of that. Easy to moderate trail. Go early to avoid lots of traffic. Enjoy!

Beautiful areas with many OHV trails for many levels and types of vehicles. Had several trips with my dirt bike and my 8 yr old daughters quad and every one on different trails.
