Power goes out a lot throughout the year. Had to buy a generator just for power outages due to going days without power. All of my neighbors did as well. Everyone on our road hates remc with a passion. Also they charge you monthly just for your meter. I have 3 on my farm so $30per then the electric we use. What’s crazy is that cost of each barn fluctuates each month even if I have the breaker shut off!! We also are mostly propane and burn a wood stove so why so our electric bill 400 a month for the house in the winter months when I use almost no electricity. Needles to say they are crooks. So we are switching to solar to have a more reliable electricity source. I suggest you do the same. Go to odon talk to the amash they all have solar!!!! Don’t be sheep! Make electricity cheap and reliable again!

Easy to pay the bill as well as great service. I have no clue what these other people are talking about, but Duke is a joke. When the Tornado went threw Sullivan, IN They charged us $758 a month. They charged everyone for restoring electicity thru there. Ontop of that I paid $87.00 a month in the winter for a 1286ft sq. House compared to $350+ for Duke. REMC is the way to go!

It seems like we experience power outages 20+ times per year. This last time the power went out (today) 3 times so far and it is just raining. Please, please do something to update your system. Not too mention the prices are ridiculous compared to other providers near us. If there was the option to rate at zero stars I would.

I just wanted to say how greatful we are that all our linemen are working hard on these messes from the storm, all the staff are great and easy to talk to and answer all your questions. Please be safe out there, as members we need to be patient and kind.

Customer service is awful, I have had people be just plain rude. But I have power more often than not. The reason I am currently unhappy is price of electricity has doubled from last year, and their reasoning is inflation. I would understand if they started paying coal worker more, but they haven't. I would understand that if natural gas prices were effected by anything other than supply and demand but they are not. Even if they had to truck power to my house, I would not buy this reasoning as fuel prices haven't doubled. I feel like big energy has seen how much gas company’s made during Covid and took advantage of crisis, and now trying to take what they can. This is price gouging. UDWIREMC is supposed to be a not for profit organization, but we have had bad board members that have taken advantage of their customers in the past. Maybe its not the board member this time and its who they are purchasing the energy from, either way some one is taking advantage and its not ok. And unfortunately its not like I can choose my electrical company. Its a monopoly.

As a new member of UDWI REMC, I was a bit concerned after reading the huge number of poor reviews on Google. After nearly a year of service, I honestly have no idea what people are complaining about. The interactions that I have had with every single employee of the REMC have been outstanding. Everyone from the customer service reps, to the site planners for new service, to the linemen have gone out of their way to answer questions and were all incredibly friendly, helpful people. I have a 2000 sq ft home that is FULL electric, including heating in the winter...and my family in no way tries to limit our power usage.
Our November electric bill shows up (the first bill with the DREADED winter price increase!!!) and it was only $170. That's it. So these purported high prices, the "robbery" that UDWI supposedly commits, I just don't see it. I do realize that I am truly blessed because a $170 monthly electric bill is not a burden to me, and I understand that many fellow members are struggling. However, I don't think it's fair to say that UDWI charges outrageous rates or is ripping people off just because you personally feel an electric bill is high when it is perfectly reasonable amount to pay for your electricity usage.

Hoosier Heritage has the friendliest emoyees.Are fast and efficient. Has done a very good job cutting down trees and with trimming trees ,and cleanup. Thank you.

I have property outside of Patricksburg. Great folks. Great service. Always willing to help with the challenges of a remote location.
