I woke up this morning at 9:05 AM. Today is 1/23/2025. Which my water bill stated that is subject to be disconnected on 1/23/25. my water my water was turned off at 10:15 AM. I noticed because I looked at my cameras. No one came to the door to knock on the door to notify me that my water was going to be disconnected due to delinquent balance, if they would have did that they would have had no reason to come out a second time to reconnect my water bill because I could’ve told them that I paid my water bill this morning. This is very inconvenient not only that I called down to the city of Edgewater water company. Some lady answered the phone. I didn’t get a chance to get her name was very rude saying well you need to make sure you pay your water bill the day before instead of the day of. you wouldn’t be disconnected I replied back to her. I didn’t know that she replied back to me in a rude manner. Now you know end of the story if the guy who turned the water off would have notified me that he was cutting off the water by knocking on my door, this all could have been prevented. I do not feel as though I should be charged a reconnection feel due to the lack of communication and the guy should have knocked on the door to let me know about the disconnection her communication is horrible. I really hope no one else have to come in contact with this attitude and behavior. Just because you know we need you’re your help.
getting the water cut back on. This is sad and ridiculous to just be miserable and rude. I wish our phone conversation was on record because you can play it back. Customer service means everything no matter where you’re getting it from.

I called close to 2 weeks informing of standing water in my driveways and my neighbors driveway Informed then that they are busy and would get back with me. No call. Went on the website to create a request to send someone out to inspect. Nothing Tried to call today. No answer. I have to put my boots on just to get my mail I wonder if the Mayor even reads these reviews or does he even care. Just my thoughts, you should treat the people that voted you in a little better and strive to do all you can to help

No water can be started online or over the phone so we had to go in person which was inconvenient. For the last year our water prices have been outrageous. We moved from Deltona where our bill was $50-$60/month. With edgewater it’s unpredictable! Sometimes it’s $120 and others it’s almost $200. Our household size has not changed and most of us work 12 hour shifts so we’re not exactly home all the time. We decided to leave edgewater and tried to turn our water off, FPL wanted advanced notice so we tried to provide the same for the water company. They were upset that we provided 5 business days notice and said it was too much notice! So we need to go back again. This place is ridiculous.

Challenging our young mayor to address the following review:

I recently experienced a huge increase in my water consumption. Approximately one year ago I had a “smart” meter installed to alert me if there was a change in consumption. The meter didn’t alert anything, upon calling and speaking with Crystal, I was advised they only have one person monitoring the “smart” meters and can’t get to everyone. The ONLY way I received assistance from Crystal was raising the level of conversation to a “Karen” level only then did she offer to send someone to check the meter.
My second call had to reach a level I was uncomfortable with only to learn that they provide free tablets to check for toilet leaks.
A check of the monitor and the free tablets would NEVER have been offered if I had not escalated the call.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
My frustration has been building since our house flooded during hurricane Ian due to the city of Edgewater NOT clearing debri from the retention ponds and drainage system.

It’s time the city address personally all the negative comments on their site.

They don’t rate a one star ?

I received the WORST customer service from Carolyn. She has the worst attitude ever and does not deserve to work in a customer service role. I called about my service at my home address. She said they were closing and that I needed to hurry up because they were closing at 4:30pm. I called 10 mins before closing time. She said she was about to hang up the phone. She called me a liar on the phone. When I told her a payment was processed on my acct. I told her she was very rude and that I was going to report her. She acted so careless and so heartless on the phone. One thing I know is that in this world people need to humble themselves. Life is funny and you never know when your situation will change.

The worst utility company ever. Took almost 2 weeks after I called for them to come check the issue. By then I had already called the plumber. They positively do not care about long time, loyal customers.

I currently have water service only (I’m unincorporated Volusia) but started full service for another property today. I called beforehand to make sure what I needed and the agent on the phone was nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately you are unable to start service online or over the phone. I got through the line fairly quickly and I provided the paperwork I needed. Again the agent was friendly but then she told me to have a seat as it would take 25 minutes to process (it did take the full time). I cannot understand what kind of antiquated system they are using in this day and age. This low rating is NOT for the employees as they were friendly. This is a call for help to the city of Edgewater to update their systems and be able to provide online services.

Scammy water company. Have an open complaint filed with the Better business bureau and the state of Florida, also have WESH 2 coming out for an interview to find out why this city is charging so much and shutting people's water off without notice.
