We’re new to gas as we moved up here 4 years ago. After less than stellar service by other heating companies for service, we signed up for the Vermont Gas service contract.
We just had our first visit from their technician Pete. He was patient in explaining things and obviously knew his way around our system. I learned a lot from him and am much more comfortable with our system after his visit. It’s especially nice knowing in this day and age of finding techs for your system that you have someone available who knows his stuff.

Travis St. Hilaire did an excellent job in Quarterbacking the switch and save conversation not only form fuel oil burner but propane to natural gas for our fireplace. the installation crew were great. the whole team was very approachable and courteous. thanks to all we couldn't be happier.

Middle of winter, there's a change in apartment renters. Gas is off because there's been some vacancy during a remodel (space heater keeping pipes warm). New renter sets up VGS to turn gas back on for heat and when tech shows up, reveals he needs access to the basement. Says he has to lay eyes on every inch of gas piping (when did that start). Access was never mentioned during the scheduling. Since access to basement is through another apartment, tack on 48 hours to cover the notice period. Renter needs to suffer the cold for two days. Customers are an afterthought with VGS.

On a very cold January Sunday our heat went out. It was starting to get chilly in the house when we noticed it, around 5 pm. We called VGS and within a very short time a young man from VGS arrived to fix our igniter on our furnace. He was so pleasant and very thorough in his work. VGS has the very best service and always provide quick response time. Thank you VGS for yiur wonderful service!

I moved out several months ago, communicated clearly on multiple occasions my intent to end the service, they confirmed the service would terminate, settled all remaining bills, yet here I am receiving bills still for a service I already terminated several months ago.

Due to the age of my gas meter, it needed to be changed. The service person Dave did an excellent job in sharing why the meter needed changing, how the process worked and how he was going to ensure gas appliances would be purged. Outstanding results and very quick ! Great job Dave !!!

Highly recommend. I called during the fourth of July holiday with no hot water. The on-call person provided excellent, but unfortunately rare, customer service. I was surprised a real local person actually answered the phone. She explained everything to me, was so kind, and scheduled a technician to come out the following day. The technician came, explained everything to me, offered options and explained next steps. Although I do need a new hot water heater, to replace my 13-year-old one, I am thrilled to be a VGS customer. Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and kind. Mindful that the cost is a lot these days and explained payment plans. They're doing something right over at VGS and their service should be a model for all others in the service industry. Thank you!

I needed help replacing my water heater and called on Vermont Gas. They've been so helpful and courteous - and now I have hot water again!

I call VGS about my problems early this morning. Within the hour, Dan was at my house. He evaluated the problem, made sure the new water heater would fit inside my cramped mechanical closet, and gave me a firm and reasonable price quote. A short time later, I received a call to schedule the work. The crew showed up right on time and did an excellent job removing the old unit and installing the new one. I did not envy them having to work in such a cramped space, but they did so without any complaint. They also left my home in great shape - in fact, you'd never know that they had been working here.

Thank you Vermont Gas for having a great crew of people that are helpful, compassionate, and competent!
