We contacted Vital Energy Solutions because we wanted a company that could evaluate both our preferred goals of a solar + battery to simply installing a back-up generator. We found 3 firms that had the expertise for this, including Vital Energy Solutions. Vital worked with us systematically providing quotes for different configurations, and helping identify problems with our circumstances, largely due to PG&E upgrade requirements to our very old PG&E drop. Vital stayed with us as we sought to nail down how to resolve site issues and updating costs as we went along. It turned out that a modest sized back-up generator was the most practical route. Their installation was quick, professional and we have had several PG&E outages since the unit was installed. It performed flawlessly.

If you’re looking at installing a solar system, I highly recommend that you consider Vital Energy.

They have an extremely high baseline of professionalism and workmanship. They will explain the whole installation process and what hardware will be used, and what warranties that come with their work, all with no pressure or upselling.

But in my case, there were also several outside issues that arose (out of the control of me or the company) which Vital Energy went above and beyond to overcome with patience and a can-do attitude. Not once did they show a hint of frustration with the issues that kept coming up, although I REALLY couldn’t have blamed them if they had. Instead, they were highly flexible, understanding, and patient.

In particular, I also highly recommend the project manager who I worked with, Frankie Frederick. I’m not sure it would be possible to have a project manager who was more available (including after hours), responsive, and competent. I consider myself very fortunate to have had him managing my install.

The work product itself turned out great, and I don’t have a single issue.
