I am a high-performance athlete, and I love this place because it makes you feel capable of doing squats in a safe environment. Everyone is focused on their own thing. Plus, you’ll find boxing equipment, a basketball court, open areas for running, and CrossFit training. It’s very complete and highly recommended 100%!

Enjoy this place so much!! Always a plus for me when I have my little ones they get to hangout while I work out. Love that they’re kid friendly. Even though had one staff member at night be rude to me and my daughter. Like we weren’t welcome but maybe he was just having a bad day. Although with this being my first time working out and attending a gym I’m definitely satisfied with the warehouse!!

Love this place! My favorite gym around the area. The only thing that would really take this place to the next level is a sauna.

This place is awesome. It's huge. It's so big there's even have an indoor free-climb bouldering wall. Plenty of benches, power racks, free weights, and machines. It's kept clean and we'll maintained. The staff are friendly and attentive. And there's 24/7/365 access for members. This place is sweet

**I am updating a 2 star review I left months ago for Warehouse. That review was since read by the owner and led to my indefinite suspension in secret with more details below. Be cautious signing on here as you may be suspended without your knowing and your card still on file and able to be charged monthly.**

My monthly membership was originally suspended due to promotional discounts no longer running and price changes. This was fixed and amended. I was charged $25. My account remained suspended.

I was on file to be continuously charged and my card remained on file while I was suspended. I had to go in and have it removed myself.

I suffered a stroke and had not been on site since this suspension was made for my review and only found out after my recovery.

Upon my return an employee was confused and “overruled” it and said to go ahead and work out. It was later changed back to suspended again. I was suspended afterwards indefinitely according to front desk workers.

My significant other (who worked at the Event Center connected to the building under the same owner) was informed “we could all get together and I could talk this out in *a private room* with the owner if I wanted things to change” by a front desk employee.

I did not appreciate my significant other being told I was slandering the business on “multiple platforms” and that I needed to go tell the owner “I was sorry.”

This is my second ever review on this business and it truly is not that important and does not mean that much to me that I’m going to go platform to platform on social media to discuss your faults. I couldn’t care less.

I am a grown man you can talk to me and not give me the run around through my S/O who is your employee or not tell me I am suspended yourself.

What I did was leave a legitimate critique and review and it is available below. If that leads to an indefinite suspension so be it for me. I will go somewhere without all of the issues in that two star review like Rise, Legacy Fitness, JALC Fitness Center, or even Planet Fitness.

Ironically, a couple weeks later, my significant other who worked under the same owner in Garden Grove Event Center, had her hours reduced from on average 35 weekly to almost nothing. She had went from working daily to only occasional weekend events without notice - a new full time employee was hired at the same time.

For my own admittance - I had only one disciplinary issue brought forward to me in over a year of using Warehouse. I brought in someone without a subscription after hours, was found, and made to pay a day pass and asked to not do it again. Nothing else ever occurred.

I was told by desk staff I was friendly and courteous and took care of what equipment I used.

Truly interesting after years of lifting and weight loss I found the one way to break a gym contract.

Leave an honest review.

I expect a reply from the owner bashing me and other aspects of my life but keep in mind what is said in both of my reviews and you have the ability to visit the facility and see them all for yourself.

I say this because it seems to occur with every other negative review in which the reviewer is no longer attempting to utilize Warehouse’s services.

Also a most recent 5 star review was made by a higher up employee - not sure exactly how ethical that is.

REPLY:
I have never had complaints from staff whatsoever and have been called polite by every individual I’ve spoken to. I rerack and take care of all equipment and was never shown videos. Here I can attach an image to show the owner is committing slander as I stated he would. An image of my profile shows these “multiple occasions” are fabrications from a very unhappy owner. I was never officially banned or suspended in person.
I was signed on at normal rates and still suspended after my price reduction was removed with 0 issue. This is a college town and leases are temporary. This is not unusual. It was amended and you took my $25 full price and kept me suspended and I haven’t been spoken to since my Jan 1 one and only infraction

It’s a good gym, with good equipment, and the basketball court is nice for indoor play. For how much it is they should really have a sauna. if they had the sauna it would be 5 stars. but sadly they don’t. Thanks for explaining. that makes more sense now why you don’t have one.

(Preface: Have been to over 6 other gyms and still have memberships at some - training for going on two years with 100 lbs of fat lost - training strictly in Powerbuilding and consider myself beyond intermediate in regard to gym equipment, etiquette, and programming.)

I really enjoy this gym sometimes but have some complaints that would affect those intending to focus on strict programs with consistency.

This gym offers many bench press setups of variety. OHP, inclines, and flats, even a decline. Unfortunately, with those, as well as the many squat and deadlift areas, it is impossible to find a matching set of plates especially below 45 lbs.

You may find four plates of 45 of the same brand and make, but you will not find matching plates below this, and if you do, the racks are not organized whatsoever which means you will be looking bench to bench for any form of free weight plate to throw on your bar. It looks and FEELS unusual to bench with the plastic style plates mixed with some irons because thats all you can find.
I really believe if there was organization and matching plates for all compound movements, this gym would become one of the better ones in the area.

Furthermore, disorganization applies to the dumbell area as well. Items and accessories are not organized, as the dumbbells are randomly mounted in no order on their rack area. This leads to having to scour the front mirrors in front of others rather than knowing exactly where the 65s are after moving up from 60s.

This is a significant problem. When told that they were strict on people reracking their weights when I first subscribed by the owner, I was shocked to see the disorganization on par with a high school weight room at the free weight section. This significantly holds this gym back but I am at least thankful that you can find matching dumbbells.

The cable machines do not pull at the weight represented - they do not match the same feeling in weight as any rise location or the SIU rec center. This is odd to me and they feel significantly heavier. This isn’t a fluke for me personally, and only applies to my knowledge to the cables by the free weights as I have not tried any others.

The basketballs provided in the shooting area are quite old and flat and difficult to air up, but you can get atleast one or two at a good pressure and have a much better time hitting cardio there than sitting on a treadmill. Much more enjoyable alternative.

Machines are kept up, and are quality hardware. I do not use them often but when I have, I have no real complaints and find them useful.

Bathroom area is quiet and well maintained, locker room has the same maintained feeling as well with options to lock up your valuable (provided you bring your own lock)

Warehouse is seriously being held back by not offering genuine organization and consistency with upwards of more than half a dozen different brands of plates ranging from plastic to iron. If the issue was addressed, and genuinely they started from scratch and invested in Rogue plates for here on out, and organized and FORCED that organization with their free weights, this gym could be here for a lifetime.

Lastly - I saw a review regarding a sauna and it was stated by an owner that it would be too much maintenance and need to be disinfected on a person by person basis. This is not the case at many other gyms, such as Logan Fitness (not advertising) which is organized and ran by student workers mostly, and not disinfected on a per use basis. I believe there is alternatives and it would be beneficial to be looked in to from a business perspective.

A couple of a changes and investments could lead this place into actually being as good of a gym as it claims to be. I personally hope to see that happen.

Go up
