The absolute worst electric company I’ve ever had. We paid 395.00 deposit and was told the new service would be on Hours ago. Now with infants who need a breathing machine and no power we will be spending the night in the emergency room instead. We emphasized how important it was the power be on before 5pm. The company insured us this would be the case. This company could care less about customers. If I had known this was the power company for this area I would’ve never moved here. Duke has far better service!!! If I could give zero stars I would.

Attempted to pay my bill just before the hurricane. We lost power, cellular, and internet for days. Due to this I had to buy emergency supplies. Withalacoochee finally charged my account 5 days later and by then it was a few dollars short of the bill total. They then immediately charged me a $30 return check fee, and then sent someone out to inform me that I had days to make a payment for service disconnect, and charged another $25 “courtesy fee”, a total of more than $50 in fees. I called to try to make my payment and waited for over an hour in the queue. Finally got someone and requested a supervisor. They would not remove the return check fee, despite explaining the extenuating circumstances of the hurricane. They also would not remove the “courtesy fee” until I made two payments. Gotta love the monopolies these utility companies have on us consumers.

I truly believe most of the bad reviews are from the consumer public that know little to nothing about public utilities and the reality of operating them. I have dealt with maybe a 100 power companies professionally over a 30 year engineering career and have WREC as a provider at my home now as I am retired, I do not nor have I ever worked them. These guys and girls are flat out the best power distribution entity I have ever dealt with. They care, they are polite, they provide options. Outage repair service time is better than I have ever seen. There is a lot of aerial plant, poles get hit, trees take down lines. SURPRISE, power goes out more often than NYC. WREC repairs in a couple hours or less. New England is a LOT longer, no matter the company. Oh, sorry to hear they expect you to pay your bill. You expect to get paid for your work, so do they. Last heard, their employees need to eat also. I am also sorry to hear they cut your trees (which only happens if the trees threaten the power lines) but you have to do that prevent the power outages others are complaining about. I appreciate $0.11/kwh and a pretty solid infrastructure. For the complainers, own your issues. put in a generator and shut up. If anyone at WREC reads this, keep up the great work. Whiners gonna whine, haters gonna hate, and ignorance will continue to show in the reviews.

Literally the worst electric company i have ever experienced in my life. I can't wait to go back to Tampa for Tampa Electric. A company of integrity that cares about their customers and provides reliable service without the constant issues and poor communication I've had to endure here.

I've had very good experiences with Withlacoochee Electric. I've been in my home 7 years and when Irma came through I was only without power for 2 days. When I needed them to unwire and rewire because the pole in my yard had to be replaced they were here promptly and also when I needed the light changed on the pole in my yard they were here the day I called. And as for their rates they are far better then the big companies which I had when I lived in Tampa.

If I could no stars I would !! I really dislike this company ! They can’t take freaking payment plans for struggling freaking families ! It’s either pay it get extension that’s it !!! I mean if we ask
For extension is because we are struggling !! Maybe you guys need to change this policy’s because it’s not fair for struggling families !!! I got cut off one time 1500 fee they charged and the bill like really!!!!

I've had multiple issues with them. They have charged me twice and wouldn't refund just added to the account. They cut trees well behind the fence and power lines taking away privacy. There call system sucks and if you get put on hold they simply hang up. They don't give there names so you cant even complain about there to a higher up.
