I can not say enough good things about Dr. Alicea and his staff! I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but I want to pay back where it is due. I first found him looking for a safe way to have old mercury fillings removed and have a root canal tooth pulled. They were the only dental office that uses a CBCT scanner to see what is going on before treatment. I appreciated this scan bc it shows so much more than regular dental X-rays.
I was dx w an autoimmune & needed this work done in the safest way not to trigger an immune response & he did it perfectly!
Fast forward 2 years; I had a crown done at a different dental office that was more local for me. I didn’t think it was a big deal until I was having nothing but issues w it & got to the point I was about to have the tooth pulled bc I was in so much pain. Well I woke up one morning w the side of my face burning, swollen & throbbing I thought for sure I had an infected tooth. I decided to call Desired Smile again bc I trust them above any other office. I was so desperate & in pain I begged them to squeeze me in & they were able to the next afternoon. The dentist said my tooth looked good & didn’t want to pull it so I did another CBCT scan it showed my sinus cavity compacted. I have never had sinus issues. He gave me 4 scripts & got me into an ear nose & throat Dr 2 days later! I felt like a million bucks the very next day & the tooth I thought was causing the issues is perfectly fine. I am so grateful that they found the time to squeeze me in, took the extra time to examine me, both dentists looked at the scans & came up w a plan of action. I have never been in that much pain in my life & I could have hugged them all for what they did. You are cared about there, your not just a number, not just another paying client. The dentists & staff actually care! I will always go there from now on, if your reading this just go. Iam extremely picky on whom I allow to treat my body in any form & I can assure you that you will not regret going, your oral health is worth it!

I would stay far, far away from this greedy, scum bag if I were you. Dr. Alicea is the highest priced dentist in the nation. Try finding a dentist more expensive than him. You won’t. He will lie and say he is the only doctor who can place SDS implants, so he makes you think he is the only dentist you can go to for the best product. My first appointment he told me that I had a cracked tooth and it needed to be removed. I told him that I don't have any pain with that tooth and I will not be removing it. It's a good thing I didn't have it removed because after a 2nd opinion recently, Dr. Williams told me that my tooth was fine. Dr. Alicea is extremely hard to understand. I maybe understand 5% of what he would say. I would need the staff to try to interpret for me, but they have broken english as well. I went to him for a sinus lift and a bone graft, so I can get an implant placed. Before the surgery, I called several times so I can get some questions answered and I would never get call backs. It got to the point where I had to talk to to the office manager to complain about the staff not doing what they told me they were going to do. The whole staff is incompetent. I ended up getting the surgery in April and after the sinus lift he quoted me 9,600 dollars for 1 implant and 1 crown. I told him I wasnt paying that. He told me if I paid cash he would offer a small discount. It was still 8,900. He also had me down for 1 hour of sedation ($1100 total-$275 every 15 minutes) for 1 implant. I told them that I don't want sedation and that I thought it was very odd he was putting that on my treatment plan when sedation is not necessary. Dentists don't do sedation for implants unless you have severe anxiety and a huge fear of the dentist. He puts it on your treatment plan because it's more money for him. 7 months After the surgery, I called the staff to let them know that I had a flap of skin on my cheeck where my surgery was done and wanting it removed as it bugs me. They told me they would talk to Dr. and call me back. I never heard back from them, so I had to call and ask again. Finally, when I called back for the 3rd time they told me Dr. said to come in and he will remove it with a laser. The day of my appointment, I called and made sure he was going to remove it that day because I live 4 hours away and I didn't want to drive there if it wasn't a for sure thing. They reassured me that he would remove the skin with a laser that day. I drove there and he looked in my mouth and acted like he couldn't feel the flap of skin and said I needed a ridge extention and it was going to cost around 1,200. I told him that I thought he was confused with what I was talking about because the flap of skin is on my cheeck. He kept saying that I needed a ridge extention but I kept saying that he didn't understand what I was talking about. He spent maybe 1 minute with me. I kept telling the assistant that he is confused and he told me that the flap of skin will go away with this surgery. He did offer to do the ridge extention for free if I had the implant done there. I ended up leaving pissed off because he completely ignored my request and wasted my time. He is a huge scum bag. All he cares about is money. He doesn't care about his patients or making things right. The sinus lift Cost me close to 6,000. This man claims to be a man of God, but he is a greedy, scum bucket that rapes people out of their money. I can't belive people actually pay his ridiculous prices. I found an amazing holistic Dr. In Jacksonville (J. Christopher Williams in Jacksonville, Florida) that places Swiss Solution Dental Implants and he is the best dentist I have ever had. He doesn't charge for consultations and reassured me that the flap of skin was scar tissue from the surgery and that he will run a laser on it to remove it. I had my implant put in two days ago. It was so fast and painless. It took maybe 20-30 minutes to place it. He is half the cost. He placed my implant for 2,500 and my crown will be 2,500. That is 4,600 less than greddy, scum bag Dr. Alicia.

Avoid this place. Same scam as always- you'll need a deep cleaning and you can't get just get a basic cleaning. I have no issues just wanted my teeth cleaned. If they think they can get more money out of you they will.

I have a complicated problem.
Dr.Alicia has been absolutely wonderful and thorough. The entire staff is also wonderful. Always kind compassionate and caring.
I am very grateful that I found this practice.
They care about your whole body and how the things they do impact you. Other dental practices do not. You would think extreme care would be mandatory as far as chemicals and substances being put inside your body permanently but that is not the case. If you want a dentist that truly wants the very best for you look no further. This is a state of the art practice. I can't say enough. Very grateful and happy.

As well as the other previous low star rating. I would also give 0 if I could. The female dentist in this office is out to scam. When the dentist came in she looked at the x rays and said everything looked great on the X-rays but wanted to take a look She told me I needed a filling REDONE and I have no existing filling there. Not to mention when I questioned her, she said there’s visible decay. I said can you show me on the xray. She told me it doesn’t show up on an x ray because it’s only a 2-d image. She said my other fillings are leaking and decay is under them. I asked to see on the xray where the decay was and she said it’s not showing up on the xray. My teeth hurt. I am almost positive she was trying to damage my existing fillings just for the extra penny. I went in there explaining I have dental anxiety and no dental insurance. She told me not to worry they have a self pay discount. It was so awful I am still crying and in pain. Please save yourself and do not go there.
